Excellent Indian Cuisine

My wife and I enjoy good Indian food. So glad we found Pooja. The food is very fresh and all the dishes we have tried are excellent. I can definitely recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala and my wife enjoys the vegetarian choices. Very friendly staff too. This has become a regular for us.

Go to for Indian food, nice relaxing decor a bring your own bottle which is a plus, a fresh well prepared food! Plenty of parking, and good service, family owned and run. Will return and recommend.

Last time not as good as usual tonight the owner was in and the meal was perfectly delicious! The chicken was tender and so full of rich flavors I loved it, and the okra and rice cooked perfectly. Will return, keep up the good work!

Excellent Indian cuisine and plenty of attention

We do not have Indian food where we live in SW Arizona. So every time we visit NJ, Pooja is our preferred go to place. We both had their shrimp entrees number 53 and 61. Although I love number 54 too! The shrimp where huge, plump and tasty! The sauces were fresh an flavorful The Naan bread and mango chutney amazing They constantly water you and check in on your eating experience. No room for dessert. This is an affordable eating experience worth going out for frequently! Consistently great experience for us for years!

Not as good as usual

Eat here a lot, the owner wasn't in tonight, smaller portions and the chicken was chewy not as tender as usual and not as spicy, an off night? Always consistent will return, hopeful it won't happen again!

As you see I come here often for a good reason friendly service, nice atmosphere a BYOB and fresh, flavorful, well made Indian food. Always consistent which is important. Will return and recommend.

Good service and food. Like that it's a BYOB and you can split an entree 1/2 mild or medium and 1/2 very hot if you want, so everyone is happy. Nice menu, big take away business. Would return and recommend.

Excellent food, good service, and decent prices!

Tried this restaurant for the first time and we were very pleased with our meals. Nice ambiance with adequate space between tables. Large menu with lots and lots of choices with good explanations of what each was. Prices are fair and portions were very nice. We had 2 chicken dishes and the tandoor combination platter and everyone loved his/her food. The naan is made in house and was fresh and warm with char marks and yummy. Just the thing to soak up all those great sauces. Service was excellent and staff was extremely friendly. Told us that same chef has been with them since they opened over 20+ years ago. In a strip mall, but perpendicular to the street so you have to go into a shopping area to find it. Adequate parking. Busy the whole time we were there with lots of take-out orders going out the door. We really enjoyed our dinner and will definitely come again. It's also a BYOB place, so bring you wine and enjoy!

My go to Indian restaurant, very good and authentic. They take special requests and it is a BYOB which is a plus. Try it for yourself and see. I will return.

Great crowd and a lot if Indians so you know it's good! Tender chicken nice sauces and great okra and cauliflower. BYOB which is a plus. And they make it very spicy for me! Will return!

I come here often and it's very consistent and tasty, a nice menu with a lot of excellent choices at decent prices. The chicken dishes are good and I like the okra and naan. A BYOB which is a plus. I will return and recommend.

A few weeks ago we had dinner at Pooja with another couple. The food was very good. Spicy but not too much to overpower the flavor of the dishes. Lamb was tender, eggplant flavorful. So, we returned the other night with another couple. Very disappointing. Almost the same dishes, but not the same quality. I don’t cook Indian food so I don’t know what happened, but disappointingly different.

Very Disappointing

We went for the lunch buffet in the middle of the week after reading the reviews here that seemed to rave about the food. We usually go to another Indian restaurant in town, Aroma, for their lunch buffet, but decided to try Poohja based on the reviews. There is simply no comparison between the two, Aroma is so far superior in every way.This review only applies to the lunch buffet since we have not tried anything else at Poohja. The number of dishes available on the Poohja buffet was about 25% of the dishes available at Aroma. Poohja charged $1 more per person than Aroma. We arrived about 45 minutes from the start of service and the amount of food left was minimal and hadn't been replenished. I was not impressed with the quality of the food, again, I am comparing it to Aroma's quality. I wish I could say some nice things about this buffet, but I can't. Try both places and judge for yourself.
