The place was immaculately clean when we walked in and were seated immediately (good start). The menus are robust but we went strictly for breakfast dishes. We have been going to Huck Finn Diner since 1998-we love their service, staff and owners- what a great place to eat! Breakfast is my favorite then burgers. Their salad bar is the freshest I’ve ever seen and it’s constantly being serviced - go there...I strongly recommend it!!More
Huck Finn has the typical extensive Jersey diner menu, but their lunch special menu is a better deal than most others. It includes a fantastic salad bar as well as soup and coffee. The food is very good..

Friends and I went to Huck Finn for Sunday breakfast. The specials menu almost changed our minds. The dishes looked good and prices were reasonable and included a fairly extensive salad bar. While the service was not as good as we expected, I did find out later than only three of the seven scheduled servers showed up when we visited, which is why I improved the service rating to average. Huck Finn is a large dinner with...a very large menu, and it has a liquor license, so I was able to start off with an inexpensive, but drinkable chardonnay. I then proceeded to the salad bar where I had a lot of veggie choices, along with some cheeses and legumes. The meal continued with matzoh ball soup. While not as good as my mom's (of course, I had to say that!), the matzoh ball was still pretty good, and I appreciated the fact that the soup was not too salty. For my main course, I had the chicken parm, served with a good sized side of penne pasta with tomato sauce. The chicken parm itself consisted of two large breaded chicken breasts, served with mozzeralla cheese and more sauce. I was pretty happy, but the chicken was a tiny bit dry. I only finished about half, and had the rest for dinner the next night. Finally, I had a large slice of seven layer cake that I shared at home, with my wife. The cake was good, and I liked the icing. I think we got our money's worth.More
We hadn’t been here in a few years, but today we were in the area and stopped by for lunch. We are glad we did. They had a Lunch Special ; lunch basket, Running from 11 to 3. We opted for that. My wife had...fried shrimp, while I had fish and chips. Each meal also included fries, soup and salad bar; quite a good deal at $9.95! service was very good too. We will definitely be back.More
The staff at Huck Finn are always friendly but not intrusive. The food is always cooked fresh, and the Salad Bar is well worth visiting. Either add it to you mean or eat from there alone. The choice is very good.
This is our favorite family diner. Food is good, great service and the price is right.My kids love their side dish pasta salad. I love their breakfast selection and deluxe hamburger.
I’m sorry to say I cannot go to this diner, and it’s a shame because it is within walking distance of my house. I have actually been there several times, but every time I went there, I had an intestinal disorder later in the day...before my next meal. I enjoyed the food while I was there, but I didn’t enjoy the after effects. I have no idea what caused it, but after maybe 5 visits with the same results, it’s off my list.More

I guess I’ve been to one too many diners that haven’t lived up to our high NJ standards for a diner. Say what you will about NJ but we have the best diners! (That may be more true in north Jersey.) Huck Finn is exactly...what I expect from a good diner. Good food, good service, good prices and liquor! I had a breakfast - and no alcohol - but I’ll bet the rest of the menu is just as good. Located close to the Garden State Parkway and easy to find, there’s plenty of parking - ideal for your trip back from the shore. Sure, it doesn’t have the personality of the Summit Diner or the size of the Tick Tock Diner. Still, a good choice if you’re hungry and in the area.More
Service was good. atmosphere was fine, place was busy. The waitress was pleasant and she did get our order accurate. She was available to refill the beverages on the table.
Love the Huck Finn for breakfast, the staff is great . The food is always cooked to my liking . I started going there when the building I live in had a fire, the restaurant is close by to where I live .
food is pretty good, service is good, staff is friendly. But it's a dinner, albeit much better than most dinners
