Best Scallops

Visited here often when I lived in Tuckerton. Always a good meal. BYOB and there's a convenient liquor store across the street. Concrete floors no frills seafood restaurant

O.K., I get the paper plate thing, it's supposed to be authentic yesteryear Jersey Shore. Except we just don't eat that way anymore, and quality seems to have replaced quantity in most restaurants. Since when was it kitchy to eat greasy food on rickety tables with tiny uncomfortable chairs. Failure to change with the times is not quaint, it's failure.

As the prices of the food have increased, the quality of some of the food has decreased. My companion's crab imperial was very good; while my whole fried clams were overcooked and the number of clams had visibly reduced from previous visits. With only two wait staff, it took over ten minutes before we were acknowledged and another twentyfive to... More

The small plates average around $8.00 and are not so little in portion. Scallops are great here. Fish tacos are made with Mahi Mahi and are really tasty...ask for the sauce on the side so they don't get soggy.

BYOB seafood restaurant with rustic atmosphere and a slightly limited menu. The food is all good though, and service is prompt. You have to try the lobster mac'n cheese...it's great.

I don't know where all these great reviews are coming from but we thought it was pretty bad. The food was not fresh, mostly coming out of frozen bags. I ordered the seafood platter, the deviled clam dinner and the fried clams dinner. We had clam strips that were inedible. Stuffed clams that were terrible. One shrimp on my seafood... More

Allen's is still my go to place for fresh scallops. Not the giant ones and not the tiny ones but just normal size scallops. in 10 years I have yet to encounter a single one that wasn't sweet and fresh. Their other offerings are also very good. Shrimp, flounder, and oysters and soft shells in season. Especially the oysters rockefeller.
