Had lunch and was disappointed. The salads looked nice but had moldy lettuce. The crab cake plate for $12 had 1 crab cake. The bacon wrapped scallop appetizer had 5 scallops for$12 and were better if you took the bacon off. The french fries were good. Dont waste your time or money.

Not fancy but the food and the service is amazing. The scallops and oysters stew is always very good. BYOB

I thought this place was average at best, Food is served on paper plates which for the price I thought was a bit tacky. I had a fried seafood combo and it wasn't anything different from what you can get in a diner. It is a casual setting however and kind of quaint. Just not much bang for your buck.

The best deep fried lobster i ever had. The place is nothing fancy but they have good food. A little pricey but worth it every once in a while!

Oyster and clam stews are old time recipes that take some skill to pull off. Some years ago, I hesitated coming to Allen's since their stews were loaded with grated celery. The floor was uncoated cement and stunk of rotted fish ad shellfish juice. I could handle the smell but I CAN'T STAND CELERY. Someone must have clued them in... More

I had Allen's seafood combo and suspect they must have been running out of flounder and cut the flounder to 1/3 of a normal portion. A few nights later I ordered the same dinner at the Dynasty Diner in Tuckerton. I received a good portion of flounder plus a clams casino (not part of Allen's meal) and the price was... More

I have been eating at Allens for years. While it is not an upscale environment, it has consistently good seafood. I have gotten shrimp, scallops and cod and they are excellent every time. When my friends come from out of town a trip to Allens is a must

O.K., I get the paper plate thing, it's supposed to be authentic yesteryear Jersey Shore. Except we just don't eat that way anymore, and quality seems to have replaced quantity in most restaurants. Since when was it kitchy to eat greasy food on rickety tables with tiny uncomfortable chairs. Failure to change with the times is not quaint, it's failure.
