Quaint small restaurant tucked away in Toms River. Best food I've had a restaurant in a long time. Food came out hot as opposed to larger restaurants that bring out the food luke warm. Will be coming back several times per year.

Just moved here and heard about this place from friends. They did not disappoint. Outstanding food and service. Family owned and you can feel it. My advice....get the Long Hots!! Ask for Gio!

We just moved to the area and tried this restaurant based on the good reviews. We ordered 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. The staff was very friendly and entertaining. We will definitely be back!

From the moment that we walked in, we knew that the experience was going to a be a good one. It’s family owned by brothers, and one works the front of the house while the other is the chef. The atmosphere is elegant, simple &...clean white linen table service. The brother who is the host and our waitress were both very sweet and endearing. They gave us a free appetizer as a nice little “amuse bouche” (which a chef usually supplies at the beginning of the meal). This bruschetta dish was a nice greeting from our chef, an acknowledgement, if you will, to start off our meal beautifully. We had the Muscles Bianca (garlic white wine) & Fried Calamari with tomato Mariana to start, which were both tender & tasted fresh and cooked to absolute perfection. For the entrees, we choose Shrimp FraDiavlo with aldentè cooked linguini & Chicken Parmesan with Angel hair and the Sole Francaise - BTW, they have HUuuuuuuGE portions. The chef creates really tasty sauces for each dish. I was really happy about how authentic everything tasted. I can see why it’s rated #1 in Toms River. We will be heading to this Italian joint every time we happen to be down in Seaside Heights. You won’t be disappointed if you’re looking for a home cooked Italian meal. TIP: make sure you call ahead and ask for a reservation!More

The food is delicious. We had veal saltimbocca and a seafood with fresh pasta in a red sauce. The dishes were enough to serve 3 people. This hidden gem can rival any NYC Italian restaurant. On a Tuesday night the restaurant was full. You must...make a reservation. We will be backMore

We came upon this restaurant accidentally , after the restaurant we planned on going to was closed. What a lucky break for us. We were seated promptly, by an extremely friendly and professional staff. We were celebrating our anniversary and the food was wonderful. From...mussels and fried artichokes as appetizers, to the main course, a pasta special, and an amazing , HUGE veal chop, it couldn't have been better. One of the best, if not the best Italian restaurants Ive been to since moving down the shore from New York twenty five years ago!More

We have been here a couple of times before yesterday and was so happy to find an Italian restaurant that was good near our home. Our young waitress was solemn. No smile or inviting words. Both our linguini pasta dishes were under cooked. I couldn’t...even wrap it around my fork. I love El dente but this was totally undercooked. I ate the shrimp And left the pasta. My husbands pasta was the same and stuck together. Calamari was tough. What Italian restaurant doesn’t have meatballs on their menu. We were so disappointed about that. I told the waitress the pasta was under cooked . She said she would tell him. No one came out to apologize. That is when I realized there was no management like there was the few times we ate there before. It’s a shame because their food was good before yesterday.More

After reading the great reviews on Tripadvisor, my husband and I visited and were not disappointed. The Staff were very attentive (Jaime and Michael) from the moment we arrived. We were served delicious bruschetta and hot bread while we looked over the menus. Jamie shard...the specials and we opted for an appetizer of Asparagus oreganato which came in a delicious sauce...great for dipping the bread. I had the veal lemon and my husband had sole francaise. portions were very generous. Both were accompanied by fresh carrots, parsnips and potato croquette. We will definitely return the next time we return to the area. By the way, this is a BYOB. Dine there,, you will not be disappointed.More

The place was in a shopping center. The front was generic. But it was one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to. The food and service was excellent. Very friendly. We will be back again.

When my boyfriend and I arrived for dinner at a strip mall in Seaside Heights, the last thing we were expecting was the AMAZING meal we found inside. Seated just beside the kitchen, we watched steaming plates of saucy, huge proportions and could barely sit...still in anticipation. Any meal that came out — even ones outside our taste range — looked absolutely mouthwatering. The atmosphere was also amazing. As two seventeen year olds on a date, we had couples complimenting us and smiley waiters with witty banter. Then, although a bit slow, the food was WELL worth the wait. You can see that even with the best food I’ve tasted in a long time, I still had a meals worth left over. I had the pasta Franco (shrimp, crabmeat in vodka sauce) and my boyfriend had the steak Florentine. Both of us left in food-coma bliss afterward, we didn’t have room for the desserts. If you’re not expecting a quick bite, this place deserves all the stars I could possibly award it, and I’d HIGHLY recommend any couple to this restaurant.More

Think it only fair to update on places we gave another chance and Tardis did not disappoint. My previous review mentioned the unpleasant noise from the kitchen that was quite a distraction. We have been back twice since then and think the first time was...just an off night. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the service was great! Will continue to return. Deserves 5 starsMore
