Just had a delicious meal at Vasili’s. Definitely one of the best Greek meals I’ve had in the area. Food tastes homemade and (cliche alert) like it was made with love. Huge portions and everything was great, especially the tzatziki, the chicken and pork souvlaki,...and even the grilled vegetables (which were surprisingly delicious). Also really appreciated the complimentary hummus and bread/pita basket. Service was fast and our waitress Jenna was very nice! Will definitely be back!More

If I lived or worked closer to Vasili's, I would visit at least once a week. Being a customer for over 10 years, I only had wonderful food with attentive service. The menu offers a wide variety of authentic Greek dishes and staples. My colleague...and I split the grilled octopus and horta as appetizers. He was impressed by the tender taste of the octopus. We both enjoyed our avgolemono soup (chicken lemon soup with rice). He ordered the moussaka lunch special and I had a village salad. His moussaka had a delicious taste. For dessert, he had the homemade walnut cake and I had the yogurt with cherries, which were extremely satisfying. All the portions were very generous. The atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxed. I could tell the other customers were steady regulars.More

Friends highly recommend this small neighborhood restaurant . My wife and I went for lunch. There were only two other occupied tables so the service was attentive. I ordered a Greek chicken soup, with a request that I like it extremely hot. By request was...granted; however, the soup was tasteless and floury. The Greek salad was not crisp. My wife's order of Spinach pie was unevenly heated as if it had just come out of the microwave. Obviously, our experience was disappointing, but friends insist they love the food. Oh well....More

We were in the mood for some Greek Cuisine after walking around the Paramus Park Mall. My wife suggested we revisit Vasili's Taverna. for some good Greek food.We made a reservation to assure a table and drove to the restaurant. Parking is free and plentiful....We were greeted by one of the owners and we were served hot pita bread and hummus. The restaurant is a BYOB and we were prepared. The Lamb Oso Buco with Orzo and it was Fabulous, If you still have room for desert the Balaclava is Spectacular.More

All of the items on the menu are standard fare at most every Greek restaurant so you won't find it difficult to navigate the options. Salad was fresh and fish was too. Be advised, it's a BYOB however there's a liquor store across the street...to help you out.More

I was there New Year's Eve with 6 friends and the restaurant was full. We each had something different and we all enjoyed our dishes. In spite of the crowd the service was attentive. And the grilled pita is always wonderful.

This is a tremendous place. Fresh, delicious food in a comfortable, casual and welcoming space. We loved the Greek meatballs as an appetizer. For entrees, the moussaka was among the best we've had, and the lamb chops and pork chops were outstanding. Greek salad also...delicious, but we had more than we needed because it also came with most of the entrees. Note that they have no liquor license, but BYOB is allowed, so pick up some wine on your way.More

Dinner is served here 3pm to 10pm, lunch 1130am to 3pm. We loved the assorted dips and grilled pita and french breads at $14.95. Very fresh and homemade, Hummus, Taramosalata, Tazatziki, Skordalia,Pikitia and Melitzanosalata . These dips were some of the best in Bergen County....The county and surrounding areas have a lot of Greek Tavernas. The Greek salads are always fresh, dressed with lemon and extra virgin olive oil, and perfect served at the perfect temperature. The grilled (Htapodi) octopus, and the (Paidakia) lamb chops are very good. The whole fish (Red Snapper) i had on a recent visit was so fresh that i had to ask where they buy there fish. The Bronx was my answer. Try the Galaktobouriko, (custard pie in phyllo). Homemade and baked today fresh. It could get very busy any night specifically fridays and saturday nights.More

Excellent food and service. We eat here as often as we can considering we have many friends out of this area. The bronzini (I order it whole) is the best anywhere and ,my husband and our friends who dine with us, all love the food....Nice storefront atmosphere and even when busy we can actually hear each other speak (which is in uphill battle in so many restaurants that have good food but are so noisy one cannot hear the conversation----and no, I do not need hearing aids!!!). A gem of a place and highly recommended.More
