It’s my favorite place for dinner almost every night as I get my choice & taste of food which I relish after a days work at my business.. The staff is generous, kind and hospitable and they know the taste of each customers who come to patronize this family restaurant.. The food quality is too good and very consistent with reasonable pricing too… Mr Sal the owner who personally takes interest in all the needs of individuals who come here to dine.. If given a choice I would have given them seven stars… I do send all my guests who come to stay at my Bed & Breakfast Inn in Vernon, NJ to come have their meals and celebrate their Birthday’s & Anniversaries on almost daily & regular basis..
I would highly recommend- The Lamp Post Inn to all those who live in town and also to guests/ travelers who come to this beautiful town of Vernon NJ to visit and have a sumptuous meal to be remembered in their life time… Chef Chuck & his team really works very hard to satisfy all their customers who for dining at this restaurant….Kudos to Chuck & his team…

Small family owned business running for the last 41 years. Once you step inside the Restuarant you immediately get a sense of how old the rest is. Suddenly the thought of how good the food is going to be dawns on you.
Honestly we tried several different dishes and the wings are a huge winner. The pizza so amazing with real ingredients.
Staff and owner super wonderful and very friendly. I must admit I have not had a great meal with food tasting so fresh and rich for some time.
To top it all you really get your money’s worth with every bite.

Had a mostly-nice visit. All of our appetizers (stuffed mushrooms, mozzarella sticks and fried calamari) and 3 of our sandwiches (barbecue bacon cheeseburgers and meatball sandwich) were all very good. One of our sandwiches (an eggplant parmesan) was tough and dry...which was the one shame.

Both bartenders behind the bar (one probably about 7 months pregnant) both had a bar full of people eating and drinking and both of them were using their masks as chin guards. I’ve picked up orders from them twice and this is the second time this has happened. The first time indoor dining wasn’t open yet and regulars were still sitting at the bar drinking and again the pregnant bartender was wearing her mask down. Not following CDC guidelines and the lack of caring about customers because you don’t want to wear a mask will make me not return. I have already told multiple people in the area about this as well.

Went for dinner last night and had a really lovely experience. We were seated in the back dining room which was quieter than the bar area. The service and atmosphere were great and the food was really good. The standout for me was the chocolate martini - one of the best I've ever had. Prices are reasonable and portions are large.

Ordered takeout New Year's Eve. The food was terrible.
We have never had bad food from here.
One order was a sausage and peppers hero. It looked like sliced roast beef. Never again.

Been there three times recently. At the height of pandemic, bar attendants and waitresses ignored CDC guidelines and had either no mask on or wore them under their chins. Who knows what goes on in the kitchen. Warned owner twice. It was ignored. Suggest avoiding this place if your health is of any importance.

I’m a local resident and have been here quite a few times. My husband likes the ribs. I honestly don’t understand the rave reviews. I’ve tried several different dishes and they were all just ok, nothing spectacular. It’s just average/mediocre, IMO.

Great food for the $. Nightly specials should be considered. Sunday had 4 gennerous choices, both of ours were fantastic and came with salad/soup, bread & desert for $17.95.
Best deal of our entire 16 day vacation! We went back on Tuesday evening.

I will start off saying we were a large party. The waitstaff was wonderful in every way possible.
With so many of us, I will only critique from my own POV.
I ordered the French onion soup to start. Bread was provided and we were offered more. We shared 2 bottles of Cavit moscato. It went well with my meal.
I ordered the seafood assortment. It included 2 small pieces of sea bass, 2 scallops, 2 shrimp, 2 stuffed clams, a crab stuffed shrimp, assorted vegetables (zucchini, yellow squash, carrots & green beans) I chose rice with my meal.
The French onion soup was wonderful and just what one would expect. My seafood assortment was average. The scallops were cooked but there was no real sear on either side but, they were moist. The shrimp were cooked but really had no pizazz to them. The clams were tasty but one had a bit of grit. The sea bass was nicely cooked but also bland. It is like someone forgot to properly season the food. The stuffed shrimp was also decent. The rice and vegetables were also on the bland side. Lemon was provided but did not added enough for the blandness of my meal.
A little pricey for an average meal. I expected more as my family was raving about this place.
For me, the company was better than my meal!

It’s my place for dinner for seven days a week as they serve the best food in town of Vernon NJ ... The staff is excellent and they serve with their best of hospitality to all the clients...
I love the Wings Night on every Tuesday evening and it’s a always crowded .. One needs to make an early reservation to avoid any delay or getting disappointed..
