We were turned down after 5 times of trying to sit on the top deck at 12pm for drinks for various reasons that didn’t make sense. This was our first time but definitely not our last! We were warmly greeted upon entering and seated right away. Our server Cindy was exceptional. She was sweet, funny and provided great recommendations and service. The table shared wings, nachos, keg tots and pretzels. For...entrees we had fajitas, sandwiches and salads. Each meal was well executed which doesn’t always happen at a pub. For drinks we did Three Sisters, cider and margaritas-all excellent as well. A nice --if noisy-- atmosphere with pretty decent pub food menu and exceptional service. It's a popular place, so the weekday crowd was no surprise. Very good nachos and a good variety of burgers. Beer batter onion rings are a good choice. Their fries seem...right out of the supermarket bag, but everything else makes up for it. I cannot say enough good things about the service staff, from the call to make a reservation all the way through. Personable and not intrusive, helpful without hovering. Oh, and the home brewed beer that I ordered was excellent. One quibble that really has nothing to do with Krogh's itself is that their little corner of Sparta features some of the poorest parking options in north Jersey. No public parking, limited on-street parking for the busier nights. And, it features some other food establishments, so I guess the civic powers that be are happy to bank the ratables and ignore the small businesses. Again, this is not an issue with Krogh's, but be wary on the busy nights.More

We went into this restaurant expecting it to be a traditional German restaurant. Upon viewing the menu it is not. As such we were disappointed but decided to stay. And we’re glad we did. I ordered a “half rack” of ribs fully expecting them to...be dry and hard. What I received was what most restaurants would consider a full rack of ribs that were moist, pull the meat clean off the bone, incredibly delicious ribs. Highly recommend. My wife ordered the chicken parmigiana. The portion was generous with thin chicken cutlets fried perfectly. Would order again. While it wasn’t the hoped for classic German restaurant it is very good and we’ll definitely return. Maybe they could add brats and spätzle to the menu?More

Have been here now a few times, each time was better than the last. Both the food and service were great.. I would say stop in and have something to eat and a drink, you will not be disappointed.
From the moment I walked in the door, I felt welcome! The hostess was so very friendly! I sat at the bar and had a glass of wine, and ordered my food to-go. We chose to return to the place that we first met to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I had contacted Krogh's management prior to making reservations because we needed to know how they were handling business during this time of covid-19 and see if they were...offering outside dining. Staff got back to me immediately and we booked our reservation for dinner and a hotel not too far away. Dinner was wonderful, the service was excellent and the sun was setting over Lake Mohawk as we were leaving. We had a wonderful dining experience and the management made us feel very welcome and appreciative of spending our anniversary with them.More
