Fine chef Joel comes to your table to greet you, Kristin hostess charmingly takes your order and then the service staff courteously serves the dishes. Owner Kieth from Pittsburgh also has a place in Chester. A must visit.

A Night Out in Lake Mohawk

We visited for a Saturday evening dinner and waited about 10 minutes for our reserved table. Both the loud bar and dining areas were crowded and parking was challenging. I felt that the menu selections were limited, but enjoyed my Glazed Salmon with orzo and broccoli. My spouse was disappointed with her Corned Beef and Cabbage off of the specials menu. The Stove Pipe Chopped Salad was delicious. Our friends liked the Potato soup so much that they ordered a second bowl! The bread was extremely salty. They offer a wide variety of beers, premium cocktails, aperitifs and cordials. Efficient service. It’s a good place for a night out in Lake Mohawk.

Big parking lot in the area with no parking at all. We were sitter in the garden, the hostess accommodated our request to change table to a complete shade. They were very patient with our 2.5 yo. Mac & cheese was the winner. Chicken nachos were great. House salad with a choice of chicken/ fish / meat is available. Nice cocktail selection. Bathroom is inside and very clean. Upscale place with patient staff that made our trip with a toddler possible. The bill was slightly over 100 for 2 kid meals, 2 entrees, appetizer, coffee, desert, coffee, bottle of sparkling water, parking and bathroom - can’t beat that!

How do you mess up mashed potatoes?!

The pros, the server was sweet & attentive…and the burger was good, but the cons were many…one and only steak on the menu and it was crappy….and they even screwed up the mashed potatoes! (Seriously, how does a restaurant screw up mashed potatoes?? Peel & boil potatoes, drain water, add butter, salt & pepper….some heavy cream and garlic even…but this place must’ve just smashed up half boiled potatoes and served them as a side!) The manager was abrasive with staff, which did not sit well with us. The majority of the menu was seafood with some boring chicken & pork….not even a decent non-seafood appetizer! Such a total bummer & a waste of money! Not only didn’t they serve bread & butter, but there wasn’t even an option to buy some on or off menu. The menu wording may be fancy, but I guarantee what you’re being served is not. What I cook at home on a basic day tastes better than anything we ordered here…so that’s pretty sad. Dinner here was a big disappointment. I LOVE not to ‘have to cook,’ but this place made my taste buds wish we had just stayed home. We’ll be sticking with Mohawk House in the future!

Went for dinner tonight and use to love this place but service and dinner were not up to par. We ordered kid meals and app to start and also gave our dinner meals. Everything came out all at once on the same tray so it wasn’t by mistake of the kitchen at least. It was definitely the server. Than my husbands medallion steaks were over cooked and let them no about how everything came out at once and it was over cooked. Server was barely around had to tell another server and when his meal took longer to recook was offered nothing. For spending 130 dollars the manager acted like it was nothing and didn’t comp anything not even a drink or the app that was suppose to be out first. my salmon tacos weren’t blackened as it usually is. Not sure what’s going on with this place but we definitely won’t be back and we usually frequent it during the summer months. Manager seemed like she didn’t care about her guests what so ever

Celebrated my husband's birthday

Was treated to a lovely evening and great food by our son and his girl friend. My husband's favorite dessert is a tres leche cake, which was so good and large, we all shared a piece. Will definitely be going back for another visit.

Potato pancake RIP-OFF

$10 for one regular size potato pancake (see fork for scale). This was billed as a large potato pancake on the specials for the day. Imagine my surprise when this small pancake showed up at the table - at a cost of $10!!!!!!!!!!! This is just complete robbery - and to make it worse the pancake was barely lukewarm. Don’t fall for it.

We took the family here for a late afternoon snack. We had the Sticky Calamari which was amazing. We also enjoyed the Lemongrass Ginger Mussels. The special drink of the day was Coconut based and a hit with my wife. Sue our waitress was extremely helpful and friendly.

Pass on the shrimp! 🍤

I have been to Saint Moritz many times and enjoyed it thoroughly, but this time it was completely different. I had a dish that had been frozen and reheated in the microwave. I was absolutely shocked. The worst part was the shrimp that came with my dinner that was not deveined. It was not only an appetizing it was absolutely disgusting and I ended up not eating my meal. There is no excuse for not properly cleaning shrimp and cooking food fresh. Especially something simple. My experience was so bad that I don’t think we will be back. I actually wish I had taken photos, but didn’t think about it at the time.

Perfect meal

Thoroughly enjoyed our whole evening. Tried their calamari which was offered with some different items( all listed on the menu), it was delicious. Cooked just right and tried the peppers, onions… both had the schnitzel which is the best I’ve had . Very tender and flavorful. Dominick our waiter was very attentive and nice. Great service!! Observed couple next to us who had trouble with their drinks, think it was a language barrier as well. The waiter, bartender and manager all came to the table to try and figure out what they wanted and third time nailed it. All of the exchanges between customer and staff were respectful and clearly intent was to get it right. Couple certainly appreciated it. Was just nice to see how genuinely concerned staff was to give the customer what they wanted. Well done and can’t wait to go back.

Great Focaccia Bread and Service

Went here for dinner with my spouse. The Focaccia bread was the best thing! Freshly baked and warm. Awesome with olive oil. We both had salads with grilled chicken, which was good but tasted “smokey flavor “ which we are not big fans of. So maybe if you are going to order grilled chicken and you don’t like a smokey taste say something. Other than that, our salads and the navy bean chorizo soup was yummy. Our server was very attentive and great. To complete our dinner we ordered some vanilla ice cream -which was like an old fashioned creamy vanilla.

Nice Oktoberfest-inspired sausages

I enjoyed the special seasonal sausages, but unfortunately thats where my positive comments end. Oh, the glazed salmon was good, but not much to eat for the price. My sausages represented a good portion, but there was hardly any sauerkraut and not much spaetzle either. We started with the potato pancake which was very disappointing, no flavor. Too often restaurants in 'quaint' tourist areas like this small spot on the shore of a lake do not live up to their setting. This was the case on our visit.

New years eve dinner

I went here on NYE Dec 31st. 2022 for dinner with my new date. I ordered the grilled salmon. Was EXCELLENT! Done and seasoned perfectly. My date and I had a reservation for a table. But we decided to sit and eat at the bar. I drink gin & tonic. The tonic tasted like club soda. It was taken from the soda gun. So the bartender just took that away and cracked open a bottle of new tonic and it was all good after that. Service was very good. There was a young lady at the reservation desk. When we finished our meal, she came over and was chatting with us so warmly. Was very cool. Highly recommend and I can't wait to go back ....

Love going to Moritz for Happy Hour and dinner at the bar. John is great and the service is wonderful. Joel's menu is creative and the food doesn't disappoint. Our favorite local "haunt"

Lemon chicken

I love this restaurant and love their chicken dish with mashed potatoes. Yummy! The lemon drop is outstanding as well. I eat here three times a month it’s about time I give it a reference. Although everyone in Sparta knows this place rocks
