We have been enjoying dining at Red Lion Diner for all the years we have lived in Southampton. During this difficult time, the owners have put up tents and comfortable picnic tables for safe outdoor dining. Today we had two of our favorite dishes: Cheesesteak...with fried onion rings, and Fried Flounder. Our waitress, Courtney P. was just great: personable and efficient.More
A long past due visit With my friend & this location was good for both of us. Since new ownership this diner has improved drastically. We had breakfast & the choices were great, even some vegan. We each had the Pinelands Pancakes. Totally enjoyed it...& enough for each of us to take some home. Had blueberries, dried cranberries walnuts almond& cranberry jelly on the pancakes. Service was very good.More
Visited on Labor Day, arrived around 8:40 am on our way to an appt in northern part of the state. It was busy when we got there but grew busier as we waited, waited and waited. Our server took our order and got our drinks...fairly quickly but there seemed to be a problem with preparation and delivery of our simple breakfast order. Finally at 9:30 we saw our server again and asked when we would get our order. She said she was headed to the kitchen and would bring it right out. She didn’t return and we finally decided to leave at 9:45 so we wouldn’t be late. Since we had no check I gave the cashier $5 for the tiny gloass of tomato juice and tiny iced tea that we did get. The cashier gave me a hard time and said we’d have to get the check from our server who was nowhere to be found. I put my $5 on the counter and told her we couldn’t wait any longer, that should be more than enough and I couldn’t believe they would even take that under the circumstances.
Unless you have an unreasonable time to spend waiting for service and aren’t real hungry, I’d avoid this place at all costs.More
It's been almost 5 years since my wife and I stopped by the Red Lion Diner having moved out of the area. The first thing I noticed upon entering was the absence of Raju's smiling face. Our waitress informed us that the diner has new...owners. Then we were further disappointed when we started to look through the new menu. Not what we expected. The Red Lion Diner was successful because of their menu. I remember reading the daily printed menu. At this time of year, one of the sides on the menu was "ECKERT'S SWEET CORN". I had to ask the waitress if they still served it. Also, the daily specials page had a great deal more offerings. I'm not going to comment about what we dined on. I will only say "IF IT'S NOT BROKEN DON'T FIX IT" to the new owners.More
The food and service at this diner is always great! My wife and I eat here at least once a week. Their vegetable and chicken soups are absolutely awesome! The portions are huge - we almost always take half of our meals home. The new...owners have expanded the menu to include gluten free and vegan options. Although these food choices are not for me it shows an awareness on the part of management as to the needs of some of their clientele. They also have special dining events, like Valentines Day and New Years with the chance to win prizes. My wife and I just received an email congratulations on our anniversary with a free desert offer. There is always an attentiveness to the customers here by the wait staff and management. This is simply a really nice place to eat in every way!More
Haven't been here in years. Convenient location plenty of parking. Place is clean and quiet. Decor is in good condition and tasteful. Large menus selection with a full bar. Decent chicken orzo soup served hot.
I got the mile hi meatloaf tasty combo with mashed...potatoes and onion rings.More
Red Lion always invents new dishes. The salads are what I typically gravitate toward. As a gf eater I just had the pleasure of having toast with my omelette. The portions are large, but that’s a diner for ya.
