Lalibela may look like a hole in the wall from the outside, but the food is unique and delicious. Their prices are fair as well. It is cozy inside, and is a BYOB.

We love this little but culinary impressive restaurant. The Ngira is always fresh and delicious. In my opinion it is as good or better than any of the other Ethiopian restaurants including the other one in South Orange, and the one in Montclair. The staff is also very friendly. The restaurant is also very Vegetarian friendly.

The food here was pretty good. Lots of flavor. Not the best I've had but I would go again. Portion size was good.

Lalibella serves the best Ethiopian food I have had anywhere. The chef personally imports spices from her home town, and every dish is made with an excellent balance of flavors. Guests can require hot or mild, to taste. The vegetarian plate of 6 dishes is my family's favorite, as well as what many of my guests favor. I wish this... More

We have eaten here several times. Three of us ate there Christmas eve. My 88 year old mother loves this food. It's BYOB so we took a bottle of Riesling. We had salmon, lamb and shrimp tibs. Injera was delicious. The best part is eating the injera that has soaked up the sauce from the meat on the serving platter.... More

We went to Lalibela on a recent Saturday evening. We had reservation and realized that it saved us from wait time. the place was busy as was expected. The chef/owner was very friendly and sweet. This is a small cozy place with about 8-9 small tables (3-4 people at each). This was our first experience with Ethiopian food. She chatted... More

I live locally and visit here often. All the dishes I've tried have been well-prepared and tasty. The service is good, the restaurant itself modest but clean. Highly recommend to other foodies.

We visited the restaurant on 11/28/18 and found the food to be inedible. The appetizers - the sambusa was burnt and the azifa was so oily and the lentils were under cook. It was like eating rocks. The entree - we had the vegetarian combo which consisted of the following 6 items: Tickel Gomen which was very oily, under cooked... More

The food is probably still good, but customer service seems to have gone down. I was in at 3pm on a Thursday. The place was completely empty; not surprising for the time of day. I was with another woman and we wanted to split a $22 dinner entree. That would cost us an extra $4, we were told by the... More

The food is great. Each entree comes with two additional vegetarian "sauces" as well as injeera. It is a great value and the food is terrific. The owners and servers are great!
