Had a business breakfast on Sunday at 9. Place was crowded but not filled yet. The food is good as diner's go. A dish of eggs over corned beef has with home fries was just what it should be and a very large portion so about 1/3 was left over. Toasted bagel, lox and cream cheese with lettuce, tomato and... Have been coming here since the 90s. Not sure if same owners but service is always pretty quick and food not bad. We bring our out of town visitors here when they want a taste of a NJ diner.

The Somerset Diner is a typical New Jersey diner, with below average food. The salad was colorful (picture) and was served with an unpleasant blue cheese dressing. The chicken parm, normally a typical dish, and a safe bet, for a diner, was incredibly tough, and without taste. A picture before and a picture after cutting are given. No cheese was... More

Stopped in for quick breakfast on way to Sugarloaf craft show on sunday morning. The food was good. But the service was spotty and it took long for a simple breakfast to come out of the kitchen. Would stop again if going by the diner but would not go out of way for it.

The food here used to be fair at best. Now it has gotten worse. The coffee is awful! You can see through it. I've brought my own on the few ocassions I've been there. Whether it has been a change in ownership, I don't know. But the food is not up to what you would expect from a New Jersey... More

We experienced a friendly staff and very good food. Take care when ordering, the portions are ample. You won't leave hungry. You have to try the Baclava Cheesecake, not terribly sweet just good. We will visit again next time in town.

Conditionally passed health inspection. Ordered pork chops. Dry. Difficult to swallow. Service was excellent. Rolls served nice touch but burned.
