Five years ago, before we moved to South Carolina, we were regulars at Ricky’s restaurants. So, we were looking forward to catching up on our return trip from a vacation in Canada. I can report that Ricky’s Thai in Skillman continues to offer great Thai...food and excellent service. We particularly enjoyed the Pad Kee Mao and the Bangkok Shrimp. Ricky is a great host and we just wish we could find this quality of Thai food in the Hilton Head area.More

We hadn't been here in a while and were looking for something different for dinner. It's good that we remembered about Ricky's. The food is always great, and our waitress was friendly. The ambience is also nice, a step above what you'd think for this...price point, which is reasonable.More

Kate Wyler (Keri Russel) of the Netflix series, “The Diplomat,” dug her fingers into an ethnic pot of steaming chunky thick sauce in a Paris restaurant. That same finger lickin’ good food experience came over my foreign guests as we dined at “Ricky’s Thai” in...Skillman, New Jersey. We got over the top service, the ambience crisp and clean, cozy and classy; of course, excellent food without breaking the budget. A simple fresh Thai salad topped with peanut sauce cleared our palate for the feast to come. Every dish was served in art form, aroma tantalizing, taste distinct and unforgettable. One must painfully decide whether to satisfy sight (can I stare a little bit longer) or taste (can’t wait to devour). Having been to “Ricky’s Thai” many times over I ordered appetizers while the rest scanned the menu page for main dishes. The egg rolls, fried tofu, skewered chicken and beef barbeque, curry puffs and assorted dumplings never failed to show off and indulged even finicky tourists. The Mango Snapper took center stage. How can something so beautiful be a disparate element of fruit and vegetable and yet harmonious and gentle to the stomach. The Tamarind Duck was crispy and bursting with delicious Thai favors. The noodles, a twist from the usual Pad See Eue came with a spicy edge, delicate and irresistible. We had sticky rice with mango for dessert. The juggling of sweet and sour so perfect we had to take back our words of no more food for tonight.More

We had food delivered...Tamarind Duck tasted like it had been laying around all day, was not crispy AT ALL (unlike what the menu said), and completely dry. As one of my favorite dishes at the actual Ricki's sit-in restaurant, this was the worst ever by...far. The Tom Yum Koong (shrimp bowl soup) was mediocre at best. It had an "off" taste that I mitigated with lots of soy sauce. Egg rolls were OK but small. Shrimp dumplings were nothing to write home about but barely passable. Total bill was just under $100 including $15 delivery tip. Would I do this again? NOOOOO.More

The food is good, service good, management obnoxious. They open at 5p, and made us stand outside after arriving at 4:55p, in the rain. Quanity of food is good....usually enough to take some home!!!

We have enjoyed Ricky’s in Hillsborough for years, but decided to try the Skillman Ricky’s and were delighted we did. The food is pretty much the same, but the decor is much nicer. Service and food as always was fine.

Our area seems cursed with mediocre Thai. The one good Thai restaurant in our area (in Hopewell) closed this year. Def stay away from the steamed dumplings here. The best thing we’ve tried is a “spicy” dish with basil that we ordered with beef. Thai...food is all about the perfect balance of contrasting flavors, and while nothing here is terrible, we’ve never had anything we’d describe as special or even very good. It’s popular; so imagine expectations of Thai in our area are pretty low.More

Our party of four decided to make an evening of it at Ricky's Thai. We had reservations on a weekday evening and we're seated immediately - the restaurant was not full. My wife and I shared a salad with peanut dressing which was wonderfully flavorful...and light. I had Pad Thai with chicken which was a large serving with lots of chicken and fresh ingredients. I enjoyed it so much! Our server was prompt and professional we did not have to wait very long for the food. I thought the prices were very reasonable. I would go back to Ricky's Thai the next time we're in the area.More

Finally a truly authentic Thai food restaurant with well-prepared dishes. The menu offers some dishes with Indian influence as well which we are very inclined to try, but this time we asked for Pad Thai, yellow and red curry dishes. We lived in Asia for...many years and one of our regional favorite cuisines was Thai, so I can say this is an authentic Thai restaurant. The food was delicious, service was perfect and polite. I found pricing of dishes fair, considering the high quality of ingredients. The only suggestion I would make is to offer filtered tap water. The tap water tastes horrible and this affects savoring of food. But we opted for spring water. We'll definitely return!More

Must have gotten a new chef. Went to both locations until a competitor opened. Hadn’t been. Then competitor was closed. So back to Ricky’s. Never been better. Chicken cooked in wok, good spice level, etc. will go back frequently. Keep it up !

This isn't something I normally do, but my friend and I were so incensed by our treatment that something has to be said. The service was so remarkably bad that it caused us to leave a nominal tip - one that left no doubt about...its meaning. After our main course was cleared - we had to turn away bussing twice while we lingered over our plates - the bill was slapped down in front of us by a passing waiter. We asked for a dessert menu. The waitress was clearly pissed off. We ordered dessert, and with it came a new bill that was promptly grabbed from the table with an accompanying epithet, and then returned a minute later. We then lingered, because now we weren't amused. We kept having to shoo bussers away. There was no line waiting for tables. We watched as other tables got up and left after being ignored (guess we were lucky?). It was an odd experience. I've been before and never treated that way. I won't be back, and I'm sure as heck going to stop recommending it.More

Ricky's is a sweet surprise tucked in a local shopping center. When one walks in, quiet and civility meet you. Staff are efficient and friendly. While I am neither a great fan of nor a knowledgeable person about Thai food, I have thoroughly enjoyed every...meal I have had here. All the food I have eaten has been impeccably fresh and beautifully prepared. I would happily eat here on a regular basis and would certainly take friends.More
