Kate Wyler (Keri Russel) of the Netflix series, “The Diplomat,” dug her fingers into an ethnic pot of steaming chunky thick sauce in a Paris restaurant. That same finger lickin’ good food experience came over my foreign guests as we dined at “Ricky’s Thai” in...Skillman, New Jersey. We got over the top service, the ambience crisp and clean, cozy and classy; of course, excellent food without breaking the budget. A simple fresh Thai salad topped with peanut sauce cleared our palate for the feast to come. Every dish was served in art form, aroma tantalizing, taste distinct and unforgettable. One must painfully decide whether to satisfy sight (can I stare a little bit longer) or taste (can’t wait to devour). Having been to “Ricky’s Thai” many times over I ordered appetizers while the rest scanned the menu page for main dishes. The egg rolls, fried tofu, skewered chicken and beef barbeque, curry puffs and assorted dumplings never failed to show off and indulged even finicky tourists. The Mango Snapper took center stage. How can something so beautiful be a disparate element of fruit and vegetable and yet harmonious and gentle to the stomach. The Tamarind Duck was crispy and bursting with delicious Thai favors. The noodles, a twist from the usual Pad See Eue came with a spicy edge, delicate and irresistible. We had sticky rice with mango for dessert. The juggling of sweet and sour so perfect we had to take back our words of no more food for tonight.More
