Used to visit Sahara years ago when I lived in Princeton area. Recently returned during family visit for lunch. New owners (16 years) but they kept many of the old recipes. Since I'm Lebanese was excited to see if meal would live up to expectations...It did!!! Ordered a bunch of meze. The Round Kibbee was just like being home and the Sfiha was very tasty. The baba ghanough was equally delicious - I would have liked a little more lemon juice, but that's just my personal preference. The grape leaves were good-not used to sumac in the stuffing. It was different for me. I'm a sucker for desserts! The ma'amoul did not disappoint. It can sometimes be dry. Their pastry was moist and had excellent date filling. I'll definitely be back next time in the area!More

Great service, nice ambiance. Food medium flare not great. Baba Ghanoug was blan not what I expected. Hummus was presented less appetizing but was okay. I had the chicken shawarma which could have been a little more fresh and tastier. Heard about this place for...years,, Finally made the trek up past Princeton. Check ✔this off my list.More

We ordered food from Sahara through DoorDash this week and we had high expectations, based on the good reviews here on Trip Advisor. If you think this is good middle eastern food, obviously you haven't had real middle eastern food. The shawarma was not real...shawarma. The beef tasted like anything but red meat. I really don't know what I was eating and couldn't finish even half of it as I developed images in my mind of what it could be. The little I ate was because I was starving. The meat was like mushy dog food, in blobs, definitely not in the shape of strips that come out of a Shawarma. The lamb kafta kebob did not taste like lamb either! And having lived in New Zealand, I do know what lamb is (and actually miss so much the shawarma around the corner!). The kibeh also did not taste like meat and the hummus, though it actually tasted good, was a bit on the runny side. We'll definitely not ever order from here again. What I did appreciate was the small amount of plastics sent, though it would have been perfect without any plastics at all.More

We have been here many times and always enjoy a great authentic middle eastern meal. Hummus and bread are fresh. Grape leaves and meat pies are excellent.

Sahara is a comfortable, happy place for lunch and dinner. We have eaten here several times with friends and family, and have also done take-out. The servers are uniformly pleasant. It’s BYO. When we go with a group, we tend to favor “grazing” and sharing...a plentiful and terrific selection of appetizers, such as halloumi, grape leaves, hummus, tabouleh and baba ghanoug; but the full dinner and lunch menus have nice offerings too. Unlike some places, we have never felt rushed. Highly recommended!More

Just above Princeton on Route 206 in a large shopping center is good middle eastern food. I have eaten here about 10 times and never disappointed. It's byob with good service and friendly menu selection help. I usually start with the meat humus then the...shish kebab, both excellent, but my wife has tried many other options with good results. Not a big place and seems to do good take out service also, food is made to order fresh so don't be in a rush and relax and enjoy.More

Sahara is plain, direct and very good. This is where I go for middle eastern food. Everything is fresh, delicious and consistently prepared. I commend this restaurant for outlasting sooooo many in this area. May it thrive forever.

The 8 of us enjoyed a wonderful and comfortable Saturday evening of Family served Arabian Specialities. Tarik, brought us large portions Masa followed by the house specials of the week. The Felafel, Tabuleh, Hummus, Baba Ganush, were all fresh homemade and delicious. The marinated sauteed...chicken specials and the Moussaka were large portions and outstanding. We drank our BYOBs then ordered fresh baked Baklava and coffee and everything came out to less than $30.PP. We Shall ReturnMore

Went on a first date and this was a great pick. Had a luscious appetizer of humuus. There are several different kinds - our choice had peppers and veggies in it. Asked for extra veggies than pita. Pita was thin and warm. Ordered a salad...with grilled chicken. chicken moist and flavorful. Date ordered grape leaves and chicken dish. All food was enjoyed. Best part of restaurant is the owner- who welcomes guests, takes orders, and makes sure food is served hot and to your taste. I would go back just to see him again-so involved-made the visit very happy. It's in a strip mall at the end with plenty of parking right next to restaurant.More

If this was not the only middle eastern in the area, I am hard pressed to see how they would stay in business. Food is OK and worth it because there is nothing else nearby with easy parking.
