This “restaurant “ is a disaster! The service is horrible and the food is even worse. The restaurant is not inexpensive, so there is no excuse for the low quality of food that was served to our party. You need new staffing in the kitchen...and attentive servers. Our waitress was MIA. We ordered soup , which was truly not edible. The pasta was sent back, due it being way undercooked. The chicken was burned to a crisp. To make matters worse, the menu has printed on it ALL FOOD WILL BE READY WHEN READY. ENTREES MAY NOT BE SENT BACK or CHANGED. PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITH or WITHOUT NOTICE. NO EXCEPTIONS. Really- with an obnoxious note like that , Par 44 should NOT be part of the hospitality industry!More

Food was very good and atmosphere is equally nice. We ordered appetizers and entrees from the Specials Menu. My husband had the skirt steak and I had the bbq chicken with chorizo-both very tasty. We shared guac and chips as an appetizer. Service however was...shoddy. Took an inordinate amount of time just to get guac&chips. We saw our waiter come out of the kitchen with food...for himself. He sat down at a lounge area for staff and ate in front of the patrons waiting for service-never saw that before. Also, when we were finished eating, we had to go the aforementioned lounge area to get his attention so we could get the check. This place is a hidden gem located at East Orange Golf Course-just needs to retrain wait staff and put up some form of partition so hungry patrons don't have to see their waiter/waitress eat in front of them.More

Food was really good. I was pleasantly surprised just because it's at the golf club. The menu has a nice variety... something for everyone.

Made a reservation for 20 via text with owner Mario, explained that the occasion was wife's birthday, showed up on time with 20 guest and no tables were set up for us and owner had an attitude and seemed overall surprised to see us. I...showed him our text exchange confirming our reservation and his response was "that doesn't mean you're going to show up!" Suffice to say it was a terrible evening, with a $1,300 bill. Will never eat there again.More

We went to dinner at par 440 and enjoyed their outdoor dining which was under a nice large tent. As it was a Friday night they had a singer who was enjoyable if not a little too loud. It gave us a nice feeling of...normalcy to see people eating and listening to the singer and even dancing a little bit. As for the food, the menu is still fairly expensive and had some nice selections. I enjoyed the rack of ribs and the coleslaw and sweet potato fries were great. We also had the spicy cauliflower appetizer which was delicious! The pasta Bolognese and the chicken balsamico also got high reviews.More

Par 440 is a great place for drinks and snacks but the prime rib is terrible. It looks nothing like the photo and obviously had been cooked days earlier then heated with a rub all over it to serve. $32 and the worst steak I...ever tried. I took it home for my dog.More

Went with a large group. Food was very good, but very loud. Don't expect much conversation especially with a large group.

I went on a Saturday night and they had a very good band (The Kootz). The food was very good except for the coconut shrimp appetizer that was a disappointment. The beer was cold and the service was fair.

We took a break from playing a round of golf and went inside to the restaurant. Although this is a public course, the restaurant is the quality of a private club. We ordered the hamburger which is 10 ounces and huge. The burger was cooked...to perfection per the wellness request of our order. It came with a side of fries. Prices were reasonable and service was good. This is a hidden gem and you do not have to play golf to come to the restaurant. If you want a great burger, this is the place to go.More

The lounge feel and ludicrously expansive and high end menu offers something for everyone! Great onion soup, the wings were good, wraps and the yucca croquettes were a major winner! The pricing and feel is like a country club- but it was really enjoyable!!!!

It's a pleasure to mention a local restaurant for a job well-done. Thanks to Par 440 on Parsonage Hill Road for a great 95th birthday celebration for our mom. Not only were the drinks generous, the appetizers delicious, and the meals artfully prepared, but we...also used the driving range for a few laughs and to work up an appetite! (They even provided a glorious sunny day!) Thanks and we are looking forward to our next visit.More

Great physical space, vibrant bar scene and great entertainment cannot overcome mediocre food at NYC prices, inconsistent mixed drinks, and poor Management/Customer Relations. This was our third or fourth visit to PAR 440 within the last several months, exclusively to support our friends who perform...there; so while we are not ‘regulars’ we are not ‘newbies’ either. This last visit sums it up. We arrived several minutes early for our reservation and were escorted to possibly the worst table for 2 in the house…..a table in the furthest reaches of the dining room, sandwiched in between two other tables with perhaps six inches to spare on either side…when any guest on either side or my dinner partner would get up to dance or visit the rest room and have to squeeze through, it was hold onto your wine/cocktail glasses….doubtful they would survive the trip. We asked for a different table,,,,ie the high-top twenty feet away and were told it was reserved. Well, I have a reservation, why can’t I have it? The Owner/Manager was quite curt in his response to our inquiry…..and made no attempt at apologizing for the table we were seated at, regardless of the fact I made these reservations over 3 weeks ago. We tried to make the best of it, but it was not a pleasant dining experience. The food (pasta special and NY strip streak) were mediocre at best, my Vodka gimlet was barely stirred, forget shaken. All the while the high-top table we asked to move to remained vacant for the next 1 ½ hours. When it was finally occupied, the guests ordered drinks only. Upon leaving, I asked to speak to the Manager again and inquired as to why the high-top table was left unoccupied, only to be taken later on by guests who did not have dinner. In my thinking, if they were there for drinks, the bar area is quite large and they should have been seated there. I was told that they were regulars and that is why they got that table. I have never seen a table set aside for non-diners at the expense of diners in the dining room area of any restaurant. Once again, curt responses, with the Manager wanting no part of the conversation. If ‘irregulars’ are treated that way, how and why on earth would we want to become ‘regulars’? No worries, it is doubtful that we will return; a shame we will not be able to support our friends performing at that venue. Parties of 4 and up will score the better tables, party of 2 forget it….and you’ll still have to deal with the overpriced, mediocre food. If you go for drinks only, stick to wine and beer and hope you have no issues that require Management involvement.More

We dined here before several times, and decided to bring 4 of our friends to dine with us. On Friday night they have a singer, who is extremely loud, to a point where we could not order food as the waiter could not hear us...and we had to point to items on the menu. When we, politely and discreetly, asked our waiter to ask the singer to lower the volume just a bit so that we could at least hear each other, the singer stopped the music, while people were dancing and having a good time, and announced to the entire restaurant that he has to stop the party as "people are complaining that I am too loud. If you have a problem, it's that table over there" as he pointed at us. We were mortified! We live in town and know a lot of people who were there that night and it was BEYOND embarrassing! In addition, the buss boy, while cleaning up, spilled the whole glass of water all over the table and us. Not only did he not apologize, he did not even come back to clean up! We had to start cleaning up ourselves, until the waiter came and cleaned the mess up. Overall, I would NOT come back here, nor would I recommend this place to anyone, unless you like to be embarrassed and get stuff, unapologetically, spilled over you.More

Posting this on both sites: Par 440 - Been there too many times to count, usually happy with the food and service but - went there tonight with a party of 9 at 7:45. Half the restaurant was empty at that time. Ordered drinks and...apps when we sat at the table, dinner selections 15 min later. Took 30 min for drinks to come, about 1 hr for apps to come. We asked the waiter and staff numerous times how much longer for our food to be brought to us, finally after 2 hours we asked to speak to the manager because our main dishes still had not arrived. We politely explained to the manager how long the drinks and apps took and 2 hours later the main dishes were still not delivered to our table. Our waiter and staff were very polite, very apologetic about the time frame. The manager was very rude about it, more rude than I have ever encountered at any restaurant. When we said the restaurant was half empty when we arrived, he accused us of lying and wanting to see the video cameras. He was downright obnoxious. We left over two hours later, food still not delivered to our table. We talked at length to our waiter and other staff about our experience tonight and they were so nice about it and apologetic and said they were not understaffed.....but the manager was more obnoxious than I have ever experienced at a restaurant.More
