Always a great meal, staff has been with the restaurant for as many years as we have been customers. We know of many other repeat patrons, well deserved as the food, atmosphere, waiters and bartenders are delightful and accommodating. The early bird special simply cannot...be beat! We are amazed what value and quality they are. Daily specials too, are truly special. Wonderful to see how busy with take-out and outdoor dining Fratello's has been with the pandemic ... So happy to see indoor dining at 50% at this moment. Introduced friends, relatives and strangers to Fratello's ... everyone has enjoyed whatever they ordered. A must if you haven't been here! You will be back!More

We just returned home after a night out at Fratello’s. We were concerned about sitting outside because it was a cool evening but we did not feel comfortable sitting inside yet. We arrived about 6:15 for our 6:30 reservation. We were promptly seated and shortly...afterwards a gentleman brought us our menus and we chatted for a few minutes. A few minutes later our server took our drink orders and when she brought the drinks we ordered our appetizers and entrees. The breeze died down and it actually turned out to be pleasant outside. We thought we had a wonderful evening in front of us. One by one we saw people arriving, some with reservations and some without. But we heard people that did not have a reservation saying they had just called and the owner told them to come. It began to really fill up and people were waiting for tables. We saw servers and bus boys running around but then realized they were mostly bringing water and house salad to tables, we didn’t see much food coming out. When it was 7:30 and we still didn’t have our appetizers we started looking for the manager who we had not seen since he spoke to us upon arrival. We complained that we had’t gotten any food yet and it was in 7:15. He didn’t have anything to say, just walked away muttering something. Shortly after that our server came out and brought us house salads which we told her we did not want, we just wanted our appetizers. They were finally brought to us. One was an order of meatballs and the other was the special of Thai calamari in a sauce, not freshly fried. Neither was the type of app that was specially made to order. We should have been able to get these in 15 minutes tops. When she brought the apps our server shockingly said we’d get our entrees whenever they’re ready, the kitchen is overwhelmed, she didn’t know when they’d be out. At 8:30 we still did not have our entrees and we had been looking for the manager who seemed to never come outside. When we finally spotted him my husband called him over and told him we were leaving. He never even tried to say food was coming shortly, don’t leave. He finally told us he was the owner and he had overbooked the tables and had overwhelmed the kitchen. How do you just keep allowing people to keep coming when they call for a last minute table when you know your customers who took the time to make a reservation haven’t even been served food. I am aware that in the age of Covid 19 we have lots of other things to worry about. But by the same token we need to go out to restaurants for the sake of our mental health and we had been looking forward to a night out. There are so many other restaurants we’ll give our business to but not Fratello’s. It’s now 9:15 and we’re sitting back in our kitchen at home eating scrambled eggs on our date night!More

I was there last night with 3 other people. The place was swamped but the owner got us a table as soon as he could. Our waitress, Rebecca, was absolutely wonderful. She was busy as could be but she joked with us and was super...attentive and completely played along with my friend, who was pretending to order crazy things. I was impressed at her composure even though they were so busy. We dined outside and it was a really pleasant experience!More

The food from the bread to the main course was terrible. The bread was so over heated it was like a brick. My husband ordered clams on the half shell. I know they are supposed to be small, but the shell on one clam was...the size of a penny. The fried calamari was tasteless. The salad cane out automatically with dressing the little slice of tomato was tasteless. Where are the Jersey tomatoes? The main course I ordered the Zappa di Pesce the clams and mussels were so small and overlooked that they just shriveled up inside the shell the calamari was rubber bands pasta was mush and the sauce was a greasy tomato sauce it was so hot temperature wise I think they microwaved it. My husbands filet mignon was over cooked We thought we would go to the shore for a nice Italian seafood dinner what a mistake we made. This is one restaurant we will never eat at again.More

I’m sorry you had a disappointing meal at the shore. I’m not even sure you ate at Fratello’s? These are usually home run dishes at this restaurant. If you were at Fratello’s or any other restaurant in your lifetime, ask to see the owner and...More

After finally sitting down, it took over an hour to get even children's meals. The pasta came out with sauce when requested without. When the waitress brought out the remade pasta, it was sitting in a bowl full of very dirty pasta water. Looked as...though they have been cooking pasta in that water all evening, along with charred black particles in the water, which the OWNER of the restaurant tried to tell me was "parsley". I would like to know if he would feed this to his child. Overall, horrible experience, and it wasn't even over the at best mediocre Italian food.More

Fratello's has large portions, but are overpriced by several dollars compared to other Italian restaurants in the area. Their bread is stale and lifeless, similar to store bought. Why they don't buy their bread from Joe Leone's which is right down the block is a...mystery. J.L's has probably the best Italian bread in N.J. and its very tasty compared to Fratello's. The recent Friday special on desserts took me by surprise by the size of the offering for $7. It was a one inch slice of cake! Again, overpriced. They are going to have to improve a few things before I set food in there again. My wife and I eat out several times a week at local restaurants and they're are many better choices to choose from for our restaurant dollars.More

My mom would not stop talking about how she wanted scallops for dinner so I did some research and came across Fratello's. They KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK!!! The Atlantic Scallops stuffed with crabmeat were absolutely INCREDIBLE along with the potato croquet and perfectly...cooked veggies. Thank you so much for a lovely meal and being open for takeout during these difficult times. We appreciate all of the employees for their hard work and dedication! We will definitely be returning!More

My husband and I just had dinner this past Saturday. The people and service are great, unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. I ordered chicken parm and the sauce tasted like they opened a can and poured it over the chicken. My husband got a...shrimp dish and the shrimp was undercooked. We did not complain to anyone about the food and I know some people like shrimp undercooked, we just do not. This is the second time we went to this restaurant and was disappointed.More

Fratello's offers gluten free pasta. Linguini and penne. And both are very good. We did a lot of sampling to get this correct. We also have a few salads and many seafood dishes that are gluten free.
