Dinner is always better with great soup! The onion soup was excellent...delicious broth, bread, onions, cheese and loved the added crispy onion straws on top. My husbands seafood chowder had lots of fish/seafood in it with a tasty, not too salty broth with chunks of vegetables. Yum! For entrees my husband had Meatball Ravioli and I had the Tavern Dip... We've lived in town for almost 20 years. Stage House converted from fine dining to their Tavern-style years ago and it's proven to be very successful for them. When it's nice weather, they're able to have outdoor seating and the place is hopping and very lively. They've been a bit lazy with the menu as there hasn't been new items... More

I don't know why Stage House Tavern enjoys the success and reputation it appears to have. I have been there many times over the years, the last of which, and it will be my last, was August 2016. We reserved a separate "room" if one wishes to call it that for a party of twelve (it is a Revolutionary War-era... More

We had my daughter's bridal shower the Saturday after Thanksgiving and it was just perfect! The room (first floor) was just beautiful, rustic and cozy, and the service couldn't have been better. It was all around a great experience from start to finish. Even though the original banquet manager was no longer there, we received excellent, attentive service from Tom... More

Three of us tried to grab a bite to eat at the Stage House this afternoon, we were greeted immediately by the hostess and seated. Our waiter came over and took our drink and lunch order promptly....after that he was not to be found....It was extremely annoying since I order a wedge with parm crusted chicken, no tomatoes and extra... We walked to the Tavern for a Saturday after thanksgiving lunch. Although the restaurant was busy we were shown to our table ( for 9 ) only short 10 minute after we arrived. Although the service was slow service was very friendly. The tavern style food was well prepared and was simplistically presented. We will return

This historic Inn has been a central part of the community since the early 18th century, and the atmosphere is truly amazing. Whether you eat in the main dining room, with the low ceiling and wooden pillars, in the bar with the giant tv screens, or in the outside open air space, the tavern has something to offer everyone. We... More
