This is the fifth time I have come to Big Bowls/Small Plates and I have enjoyed every meal I have had here. It is a nice place to dine when you just want a small snack or a light meal as there are many things to choose from and the prices are very fair. I had the Tangerine Beef which was delicious. The small slices of beef were deep fried and served with a tangy citrus hot sauce and every bite had a sweet/savory taste. The portion size could have fed two people. I also had an order of General Taos Chicken Dumplings Pan-Fried. These wonderful plump little dumplings were served with plum/ soy sauce and fried to golden brown on the sides. The chicken was marinated in a Hunan Plum Sauce before they were wrapped in the dumplings giving them a nice complex flavor to them. The service is always nice and very welcoming. The music they play when you are dining is contemporary and very enjoyable.

I saw that Big Bowls Little Plates was on my Advantage Dining program and decided to try it. They had a very interesting menu and I thought it might make an interesting lunch. First, because of COVID there is limited seating here so they can only let about 20 people dine in the restaurant at one time. It is also a really nicely designed and very hip looking place. The decor is very interesting and has a very natural look to it. Second, the menu is very interesting and innovative. A nice twist on traditional Dim Sum and a fusion of Asian and American cuisines. I ordered the Peking Duck Buns, the Pork Dumplings that were pan-fried and the Szechuan Wontons steamed. Everything was very good and very well cooked and spiced. The only problem I had was that the sauces were on top of the dumplings and wontons and that made them very soggy. When you order the wontons make sure to have the peanut sauce on the side. It can be very over-whelming on the dish. The same with the Pork dumplings. Make sure to have the sauce to the side. This way it does not over-whelm the dish. The Peking Buns were perfect and the standout of the meal. The sweet duck meat and plum sauce was a nice combination on the soft steamed buns. Each bite was crunchy and delicious. The service was very jovial and friendly and welcoming. It has a very enthusiastic staff that want you to enjoy your meal. I know how to order for the next time.

I had dinner here this evening and being Good Friday I could not eat any meat. There were many wonderful and reasonable choices at Big Bowls Little Plates. To avoid eating meat this evening, I had the Scallion Pancakes, the Vegetable Pan Fried Dumplings and the Fried Rice which had eggs and scallions in it. Everything was delicious. The Scallion Pancakes were served with a plum sauce and were perfectly pan fried and crisp and the Fried Rice was light and had the perfect amount of seasonings. The service here is really friendly and it is such a hip little place with excellent music soundtrack in the background.

This is my third time to Big Bowls Little Plates for dinner and it was just excellent. My aunt and I had a wonderful evening at the restaurant. Since the restaurant is still following COVID rules, there is limited seating and the restaurant closes at 8:00pm, so you need to time your visit accordingly. We order the Scallion Pie, which are scallion pancakes that are pan-fried to perfection and served with plum sauce to give them some extra zip. We had an order of the Peking Duck buns which were thinly sliced duck and scallions tucked into two soft rice buns which had a sweet flavor. The General Taos Small plate was hardly a small portion and had a nice flavor of hot chilis and vinegar. It was a nice take on on this classic dish. What was mind-blowing were the Nutella Strawberry Wontons on the dessert menu. Each of these crisp Wontons burst with rich chocolate with each bite and the sweet fresh fruit really complimented the wontons. The service was excellent. Very friendly and quick.

Small place but not crowded and cute place . First thing I noticed was the colorful mural on the wall when I walked in . I ordered Pork Dumplings which are made fresh here . It came in a butter ginger sauce which was so creamy and flavorful I saved the remainder in my dish to put on my ramen soup which came with the General Taos chicken i ordered after I finished those delicious dumplings. The waitress Jennifer was very helpful in helping me chose my lunch meal . I was surprised that this little place had such good food its definitely a hidden gem .

I went for a quick lunch at Dumpling Dojo after not being here for awhile since the name change. The food is still excellent. I had the Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings which were wonderful. They were crisp on the outside and spicy and flavorful on the inside with a soy dipping sauce. The were cooked to perfection. The Duck Buns were really good too. They had slices of Peking Duck inside of them with slices of scallion on the inside and lined with Plum Sauce. Each bite had a nice crispness to them with the softness of the bun contrasting with the crisp slices of duck. They were so well made. Everything was delicious. The service was really friendly and laid back. The people who run the restaurant could not have been nicer.

Saw this place on uber eats which had a tangerine beef bowl. Title itself got me. Got a tangerine beef (similar to an orange beef bowl) was awesome. Next we’re some raspberry cheesecake wontons to die for. Would definitely go again.

We stopped in before a movie across the street at the Willams Center and loved it! Chicken wraps and soup dumplings and were great for appetizers. Loved the different bowl options. BYOB of course. Service was excellent - nice and fast. Place was clean and good for couples or families. Quick but not rushed.

My husband and I had the French Onion Ramen with the braised short rib and it was delicious!!!! The meat was flavored so well and was very tender. We also had the General Tao dumplings and vegetable dumplings, they were both really good. Our server Aidana(?) was really helpful with the menu since it was our first time there...excellent service. I couldn't finish my ramen, the portion was huge!!! Everything came up to about $50, drinks included. I definitely recommend this place.

... But my dish, orange beef, was dry like shoelaces. The vegetables were good. Wish I'd gone spicy shrimp bao buns.

I don’t feel my review could be fair based on the mere fact that I don’t eat meat and this is what their most creative looking dishes include. As a person who ate meat in their past life, I can at least say they appear to be appetizing. My current lifestyle includes a pescatarian diet and my eye happened to catch a dish called “Krispy Kreme shrimp”. “Krispy Kreme, you said? Uh...yeah, I’ll have one of those, please.” I enjoyed it. While being very sweet, I felt the portion was just enough to be satisfying for two to share. As for the ramen, I choose the vegetarian which was decent for my palette’s taste. Again, don’t feel that’s a fair vote considering what this place offers. But can we please talk about the dessert? It’s mini fried wontons with different types of filling. They have Nutella with strawberries, pb&j, Oreo, caramel, cream cheese, etc. I choose the cream cheese filling and man was this a nice finale to my dinner. Just take a look at the picture. If you’re in the area, even if just for dessert...this is a MUST TRY.
