OK so here’s the thing. This place is a total trip. If you’re looking for linen tablecloths and artsy food then this is not it. But for something totally off the wall with decent food, then give this a shot. First of all the service was very good from our waitress. We were looking for something just a little lighter so we asked if we could modify a seafood dish and they said no problem. Our son also found a kids meal item he liked which came with a frisbee and an ice pop to take home and a $1.00 credit to the attached candy shop.
The food was good. Not out of this world. But good. Scallops were cooked perfectly. Shrimp was good and fried calamari appetizer was also quite good. Coleslaw side was overly mayonnaised and they were a little short on choices for salad dressings. Mostly this was a nostalgia play for my wife who used to come here as a kid with her folks and we wanted to share that with our son.
PS. We got there just before 5 and we walked in. But any later and you better get a reservation as it was a line out the door as we left.

We went to Menz and had a wonderful time. It was a beautiful day and an excellent dinner. Earlier in the day, we called for reservations. During a normal year without the pandemic, Menz's is always crowded and reservations are suggested. Even during the pandemic, we made reservations and there were two other parties in front of us when we arrived. We had a very short wait, less than five minutes.
First, the customers were placed at every other table at an outdoor seating area. In addition to the open patio area there was a tent in the parking lot that had about a dozen tables with six seats at each table.
We ordered a salmon entree and crab au gratin entree. Each entree came with the choice of two sides. We selected green beans and mashed potatoes for the salmon and cole slaw and mashed potatoes with the crab au gratin. The salmon was cooked to perfection. It was extremely fresh, moist, and flaky. The crab au gratin was very cheesy. There were chunks of crab in each bite. Both selections were very good.
Our server was very good. She was personable and stopped at our table several times during our meal. The servers wore masks.
Most of the entrees were in the $20+ range. The menu contained seafood as well as meat entrees. We did not order an appetizer. A dinner for two with appetizer and a drink for each person, tax, and tip with total about $100.
Menz's is located on the west side of Route 47 North, about two miles from the Garden Parkway.

Menz’s has old school charm plus delicious food as well as friendly wait staff and comfortable surroundings. We really enjoyed our dinner here & though we had a big group, everything worked out really well. There is plenty of parking & they take reservations which is helpful. Plus there is a cute little gift shop with “penny” candies on the way out. For those old enough to remember Zaber’s in North Wildwood, Menz’s has the same vibes with warm lighting, antique lined walls , arcade for the kids and a yummy bread basket. If you go, try the French onion soup and teriyaki salmon - both are fantastic!

Not our first visit. When we started going here a few years ago it was really good. The last two times it was mediocre at best; my husbands filet was so tough both times he couldn’t eat it. The response from the waiter the first time was, “we don’t raise the beef”. The second time when he told the waitress she just said oh, ok. Charged the full $39 both times, I don’t mind paying for food I can eat. The seafood is advertised as fresh and may be but my flounder was over cooked and stuck to the broiling dish. Best thing they served was the blueberry muffins and stewed tomatoes. Will not be returning.

Menz has good food but they cut the menu down. Our favorite chopped steak is no longer available. They took away the early bird specials! The prices keep increasing so I will not be returning anytime soon.

Sat at the bar, where we were studiously avoided by both bartenders. True, the bar was pretty full but the bartenders just were terrible: one asked the couple right next to me how their dinner was but she didn't even look at me--she could have easily taken my order then, or at least said "I'll be back to take your order," Had to ask if I could order a drink; then had to ask if I could order food ... Never got the salad I ordered. Honestly, and I have worked in restaurants, they did not seem to care.

We have a house at the beach and are trying to find places to eat that aren't "trendy shore places" We weren't disappointed! My husband and I stopped after the driving range. We had the fried seafood combo platter which came with 2 vegetables included a delicious crab cake, scallops, shrimp and flounder. Everything was excellent and cooked well. He got the mashed potatoes and string beans (fresh!). I got a cup of cream of asparagus soup made with fresh asparagus - YUM! And the deviled crab cakes which were heavenly! You also get bread to start which included muffins. We enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back again with the rest of our family!

Very disappointed, asked for extra napkins, sour cream, etc. never received. Very small portions, crab cakes (2) as big as golf balls, scallops wrapped in bacon were more like crumbled bacon over scallops, flounder stuffed w/crabmeat, not much taste. Brussel Sprouts were good. Kids got a hot dog/french fries in a frisbee, cute but really for $10.00.

We had not been here for a few years since when we are down there they are open Thur through Sunday and I was always booked those nights for a convention. We made it there this year with friends on our recommendation. we were nervous since we had not been there for a few years. They did not disappoint. The food was delicious, service was friendly and attentive, something rare since the pandemic. It was very refreshing and i hope i get there again next year.

We went to Menz for outdoor dining. They had every precaution in place and were following social distancing procedures. They also used paper menus. Our server, Beth, was fantastic from beginning to end. She worked so hard to make sure everything about our visit was perfect despite the circumstances of the pandemic, and wore her mask (the correct way) and gloves which she changed frequently during our visit. The food was as good as always. I have been going to a Menz for years and I have never had a bad meal. I got the Maryland style crab cakes which I highly recommend. Flounder francaise, chicken Parmesan, grilled swordfish and spaghetti and meatballs for my son were all delicious. The selection of desserts was impressive, but of course I had to get their salted caramel cheesecake. I cannot wait to go back and will be visiting them again soon! I know this is a concerning time, but if you did want to go out to dinner I highly recommend Menz. Their quality of food was as good as ever, the service was beyond efficient, and most importantly, they followed strict protocols to ensure the safety of their diners. I commend them on all they did to ensure our safety and a wonderful dining experience!

We saw that they were opened so we made reservations. Was told it would be 30 minutes either way. Reservation was for 5:30 and got seated around 5:50. Only odd thing was walking thru the restaurant to the table instead of just walking across the parking lot. Service was a little slow but that is to be expected. Still seemed a little disorganized since tables seated after us were getting taken care of before us. Limited menu. Bacon scallops are very good. Prices are much in line with other seafood restaurants. Kudos to all wearing masks.

Love this family owned gem at the Jersey shore. Make it a point to get there a few times a season. My personal favorite is the Flounder Francaise --- best anywhere. The macaroni and cheese and stewed tomatoes are perfect with it. The fried Jersey tomatoes or the coconut shrimp are wonderful starters as well.
The haunted dining is an awesome experience as well.
My first 2020 visit will be next week and I am so looking forward to it!

Went here with family ( brothers, nephews and in-laws) for dinner. We had made reservations but still had to wait almost half an hour. Menz's has always been very good and I love their menu. Food was as good as I expected, scallops, crab, crab cakes, rolls, soup and on and on. Very good Bloody Marys as well. Eight of us and the bill was well over 400 so I think its gotten a little over priced. The waitress was very good as well. When ever in that area I will always go there but now knowing they have gotten pricey.
