Lakeside Gem

I take my mother to the Lakeside Diner just about every weekend for lunch. Both of us enjoy the 30 minute trip to the lovely Ringwood area, and never fail to be satisfied with our experiences at Chris's diner on Ringwood Avenue. It is always clean, comfortable, and the staff are friendly and hardworking. Whatever we order to eat is always gratifying, which is a compliment to those others behind the scenes we never see. Chris is always ensuring that his guests are well cared for by personally visiting tables to ask if all is well. I would also add that the diner is nicely decorated for the holidays, has a full menu, adequate seating and parking, and clean restrooms. Overall, Chris and his staff deserve 4 stars.

BEST DINER AROUND

So happy that Chris has come to Ringwood. My wife and I eat out often. The food gets better every month, constantly bringing new choices to choose from. Lakeside Diner has hands down become the best dining experience you can have in Ringwood. Amazing food, good prices, excellent service. Just had the best lamb chops I've had in years. The attention to details comes with every meal. Thank you for yet another great meal. 5 stars every time.

We enjoy the food at this diner!

Since pandemic, we have not gone out to eat except for takeout recently. We enjoyed going to this diner for breakfast on weekends. We have started to venture out, still take out, we did miss this food. The best eggs Benedict and corned beef hash...ever. I never order the hash, my husband enjoys it, I tried it...now, I'm hooked. But...from only this place. I have to say, Chris, the owner is awesome. He remembers his customers and always has a friendly smile and greeting. He is such a pleasure.

Refused to serve Thanksgiving dinner to handicapped person

A friend who is handicapped and on a walker went to this diner to have Thanksgiving dinner because she cannot cook for herself. The waiter told her that they had the food in the kitchen but only for take out. The manager confirmed this. Even if this was their plan, they couldn't make an exception and bring a plate out to a handicapped woman on Thanksgiving???

Dear Biotechdev, There is always two sides too the story. If you remember I came to the table because you were very aggressive with my server about the size of your spinach pie before ordering. You wanted the Greek salad dry so you can add Russian dressing. when I came to the table too speak with you, you kept stating to me the diner in Wayne serves it like this. I explained we are not the diner in Wayne and this is the size portion we have here. Than your friend whom you claim was handicap we would not serve. If you remember she ask me if she could have the Thanksgiving dinner without the turkey. I asked her if she preorder (as we were only open for breakfast, The dinners were preordered for pick up only) your friend stated she called a few weeks ago and spoke to my day manager whom also stipulated that. Your friend said on the phone two weeks ago that she would find something else to order. So it should not have been a surprise that we did not have extra. You state I would not feed the handicap, as to your complete misrepresentation we had just days before Donated over 100 whole Turkey to Wanaque feeds the huger, the batter women's shelter in Wanaque and West Milford and The Greek orthodox church in Clifton whom fed the homeless at eva's kitchen. If my memory serves me right your husband when paying apologized many times for you. what really sad is a small business owner opens his doors to you on a Holiday to make you feel like family and you turn to social media to try and berate his business. Quality, Quantity, Price & Professionalism that Cannot Be Beat!!!

My wife and I have seen Lakeside Diner advertising on TV many times and have said we need to give it a try. We finally made it there last night, August 18, 2023. We were welcomed as soon as we entered and shown to our table where we were greeted by Roberto R. who was our server. We were given menus and the daily specials along with two glasses of ice water. Roberto gave us a few minutes to lookover the menus and asked if we had any questions regarding the menus and if we needed more time or knew what we wanted. My wife ordered chicken and rice soup and the daily special of fish tacos, I ordered Manhattan clam chowder, steamed clams and fish tacos. I got a diet Coke and my wife unsweetened tea. In a short time, our soups were brought to us, and we began to eat. My wife and I looked at each other and said how’s yours, we both commented how good our soups were. You could taste they were homemade and not from a can. There was plenty of chicken and vegetables in her soup and mine was loaded with clams, potatoes, and vegetables. I would put this clam chowder up against anyone’s. Next I was served the steamed clams. The broth they were steamed in was outstanding! There wasn’t a drop left in the bowls when I was done. It came with enough garlic bread to sop up all the broth. The clams super fresh and cooked to perfection. Growing up in Rhode Island I have eaten my fair share of clams every which way and I put these at the top of my list. Roberto now served each of us our fish tacos. There were three huge fish tacos with each order and served with white rice and black beans. The tacos were loaded with fresh cod superbly breaded and fried to perfection topped with cabbage, Pico de Gallo, cilantro and a big slice of super fresh avocado. I said to my wife you can taste the freshness of everything we are eating!!! During our dinner the owner visited each table and spoke to everyone. He asked us how everything was so far, if we needed anything and thanked us for having dinner there. Lakeside Diner is truly a Benchmark establishment for the restaurant industry. They understand if you give the consumer quality food and a fair quantity at a fair price along with outstanding service people will come and will continue to return time and time again. I highly recommend Lakeside Diner and believe everyone should make an effort to visit and find out how good this place is.

However we are surprised that there was a surcharge for credit cards, after the pandemic and the skyrocketing food costs it became an industry standard. Great diner in NJ. Very nice ambience and great staff. We had the hamburger which was excellent. Definitely woth stopping by if you are in the neighbourhood.

Very good food

Diner is under new ownership. Been passing by seeing many cars in the lot so we qent for dinner. Both had greek beef gyro platter. This meal comes with soup, dinner, and small desert for a reasonable price. I chose Manhattan clam chowder, which was really good and loaded with vegetables. The main course consists of a very tasty, fresh greek salad and the beef gyro. This is a very good meal. I had a strawberry ice cream for desert. Which was very creamy and delicious, too. I cannot wait to go back to eat. Highly recommend this diner. Many other menu options sound tasty.

Great service & great food.

Our large group of 26 descended on the Lakeside for lunch on Saturday. We were immediately seated by the very friendly wait staff & very quickly, food orders were taken & just as quickly, our orders came out of the kitchen. Everything was excellent & we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Kudos to the management & to the energetic & accurate wait staff. We will definitely be coming back to the Lakeside Diner.

Wonderful place for a casual meal

We were looking for a place to have a meal with friends after an event at near-by Ringwood State Park. This diner was recommended by a local. I had the best Greek salad I think I've ever tasted. Generous portions and friendly service. We'll eat here again next time we're in this area.
