I have been here a few times over the years, usually for family events and celebrations. The food has been good and reliable, the menu is substantial and offers dishes for a variety of tastes and moods, and the setting is quite cozy and casually...upscale, despite the location at the end of a small strip mall next to a gas station and convenience store. The only real complaint is that the pace on our last visit was frustratingly slow though it was not overly busy, from getting water, to ordering drinks, to getting bread, to actually ordering food, to getting the bill. Servers seemed to avoid eye contact, failed to recognize the normal signs that a diner wants to engage, found ways to walk without facing our table, and did not come back for long periods. We were also surprised when the bread finally arrived that there were several fewer pieces than people at the table. Once we had their attention, the servers were generally helpful and responsive.
Dishes we tried included fried calamari (pretty good, though no tentacles!), eggplant rollatini (delicious), pasta bolognese (very tasty, though cooked a little too long), linguine with white clam sauce (delicious with lots of clam meat and slices of garlic cooked perfectly soft), and dessert -- tiramisu, bread pudding, and mini cannolis that were all very tasty. There is also a very reasonable prix fixe menu during the week that includes a lot of great choices.
With a little more attention to timing, this would warrant a 4th star.More
