This place is busy. We got a table at the second floor which is more like an overflow area for private events and noisy families with small children, crying, running around. The food was very good, matched by an excellent service. Next time I will...try for a table at the ground floor area. For a Friday night you might need to reserve in advance.More

We have been hearing about this restaurant for awhile and i went the other night for dinner and found this restaurant to be very nice but the food is just average. We had the mozzarella cardoza as an appetizer and thought it was more like...a mozzarella stick (although it was larger. I then had the veal chop parmigiana. It had the same breading as the cardoza and the sauce tasted like it came from a can.The service was very attentive bordering on overbearing. The waitress we very pleasant. We might give it another try but I doubt itMore

We dined for the first time here at 6:30p on a busy Friday night with another couple. We waited a long time to get our drink order in so we placed both our drink and food order at the same time. Our server was very...pleasant and cheerful. The mozzarella in carrozza appy was average and seemed like it came right out of a Costco box. Food was good but average. Service was a bit slow at times. The carrot cake dessert was terrible. There was virtually NO icing in the cake...really? Lastly, the room (just beyond the bar) we were seated in was simply too noisy to hold a normal conversation. We're not likely to return given the multitude of higher quality italian restaurants in the general area.More

I receive a gift card from Rosie's a while back. I went to the restaurant to find out how much was on the card with intentions of making reservations for our family. I was told that the gift card was voided because they changed systems....I explained this card was from their restaurant and there was no expiration date nor a clause that would void the card if systems changed. End result was they refuse to honor it. This was my first and last experience at Rosie's. As a long term resident of Randolph we looked forward to supporting them. By the way I was received and spoken to it was clear to me that my skin color was a big factor in my treatment. I was not welcomed from the moment I walked into the bar area, I was ignored until the front door host finally came to ask someone to assist me, assistance I never actually received. Definitely do not reccomend specifically to a person of color.More

I had dinner in January with a group of 6 friends at Rosie. This was my 5th time dining there and the 5th time I had an issue. Despite having a reservation far in advance we were seated at a table too small for our...party in a cramped space in the dining room. There wasn't enough space to comfortably fit our appetizers on the table and the wait staff was constantly reaching over our heads to pass plates and fill glasses. Our appetizers and salads were good and we enjoyed a few bottles of a house wine while we dined. When it came time for our entrees five of them were brought out and placed on the table. After a short wait someone came over to the table and informed us that the sixth entree would be a few minutes. During this time the owner came over to check on our table and realized we were having an issue with receiving our food. She apologized and went to the kitchen to work it out. The entree arrived after about 5 minutes however was undercooked and needed to be sent back at the owners insistence. After a few more minutes the final entree arrived. The meals were fine, nothing exceptional and certainly not in line with the pricing, but no actual complaints about the quality of the food. After the owner intervened the waitstaff appeared annoyed with us. When offering us dessert they just placed the tray on our table and walked away without telling us what the options were. They appeared frustrated when we asked for an explanation so we decided to skip dessert and head to the bar. We received our check and paid a full 20% tip despite the issues with service. At the bar I ordered two more glasses of the house wine. The bartender suggested a bottle since we were with a group and planned to stay a while and I agreed. The bartender asked if one from a specific region was ok and I again agreed, assuming this would be a house wine as I had requested. Several bottles of wine later we learned that it was not in fact a house wine and was actually triple the price of the bottles we had been drinking at dinner. We were quite frustrated however the bartender who served us the rest of the night and closed our tab was not the one who sneakily upsold us on the wine so we again closed our tab and left a full 20% tip. The next day I was still frustrated with my experience and after having had several sub par visits to Rosie's I decided to speak with the owner regarding my experience. I spoke with her and shared everything that happened during our dining experience. Rosie apologized again and tried to make things right by giving me a bottle of wine. She chose to give me a bottle of the house wine, not the more expensive bottle that we were upsold and paid for. I felt a more appropriate response would've been to comp something we had already paid for or to offer a gift certificate for us to return in the future. Nothing alone these lines was offered. In short, I am disappointed with the service at Rosie's and won't be dining there again.More

Rosies is so consistently excellent and that is the secret to their success. Last night was no exception. The Mules are perfect - try the Clooney! Seafood is so fresh. Shrimp cocktail was great as well as the Branzini in scampi sauce (to die for)....Italian specialties are generous and delicious- had the eggplant Parmesan. Rosie takes the time to stop by and say hello when it’s packed! The waiters are great too - friendly and funny! Love sitting in the beautiful bar. Always a pleasure to come here!More

BUT...we felt rushed at the end of the meal because they emptied our bottle of wine in one person’s glass when there were no takers at that moment, they never refilled or offered to refill our coffee. The WORST thing was they expected us to...hand them our glasses for refill and plates for discard. (They packed the tables too tight for servers to properly “serve”.) That is lame for such a pricey restaurant. Might go back, might not.More

The food in this sprawling trattoria is very good, from the seafood to the pasta and meats and desserts. The problem in this expanded, post-renovation restaurant — at least on a Saturday night — is that the kitchen can’t keep up with the demand of...the customers in the various rooms within the place. As a result, a sraightforward meal becomes a three-hour affair, and getting the attention of wait staff — for drink refills or replacement silverware, for instance — is difficult. And the din, at least in some of the rooms (including the one we were in), is so loud that conversation is difficult, too. If you don’t mind a long, drawn-out dinner where conversation must be shouted, you will enjoy the food!More

If you have never been to Rosie’s before, I predict you will love it. We used to go to Rosie’s all the time before she expanded. We went for every-day dinners as well as special occasions. Now we hardly go. The food is still very...good. The prices have gone up a lot (and they were not cheap before) and the portions have gotten smaller. Service is good, but just not as good as it was years ago. I miss the small family atmosphere there used to be where Rosie and Mia treated every customer like they were the only customer. Now there is a great bar area with lots of TVs, but no happy hour menu. They advertise the “drink of the day”, but it’s not discounted. So if you are going for dinner and drinks, expect to spend a fortune.More
