It was 25 years ago (more or less) that a breath of fresh air (and fresh food!) came to Princeton. When Main Street Bistro moved into the Princeton Shopping Center, it set a new standard for excellence—and excellence at a good price. Today Princeton is home to many good restaurants, but Main Street is not one of them. After changing... More

We had a pleasant and tasty meal at Main Street. There is a bar area by the front door, an open kitchen, then a comfortable back room. The waiter was friendly and patient. I had baba ghanoush as an appetizer and it was delicious, followed by a taco salad that also hit the spot. The menu had a nice range... More

We have been regulars at this local restaurant for many years. The menu changes seasonally so keeps things interesting. During warmer months the outside seating and the Clock-tower Cabana Bar make it feel like you are on vacation. I love the Lamb Sliders and have them often. Always a reliable choice for lunch or dinner.

I absolutely love this place. They have a seasonal menu that is fresh and lovely. I love the Chicken Rustica Salad. it changes slightly with each season. For fall they use shaved fennel, in the summer they use tomatoes. Had a wonderful Halibut dish with polenta and Broccoli Rabe. Love it! Staff is lovely.

I dined with a group of about seven people after a meeting we had attended. When we telephoned for reservations, the young lady assured us that we could get separate checks. When we arrived, we were told that separate checks were impossible. We had a really nice waiter, who, after we whined a bit about it, played with their computer... More

We had dinner with one other couple. We ate al fresco in a nice environment. Unfortunately, neither the food nor the service justified the prices. The menu looked great, but the food was not as described. For example, the corn-meal "dusted" cod had nearly as much breading as fish and the "succotash" it was served on had no lima beans.... More

Food was just fine. Nothing to write home about, but adequate and a good value for the money. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. What I found interesting was that this place really does discourage having children with you - even for a lunch visit! Wish I had known that prior to getting seated. It definitely is an... More

Good selection. Not at all ordinary, each dish has a little something different that makes your meal an "interesting" taste experience. A favorite are the breads that are served with your meal. As for the staff, they were not particularly accommodating.

Really nice menu. Staff is always nice. I have been there for dinner, both inside and out, and always had a nice mean. You can get a dinner to a burger. Pretty consistent. I have actually been in their private room downstairs for a function, and that was nice, a bit dark, but nice. Would recommend to anyone.

We have been coming to this place for many years. It is under new ownership, but thus far has not changed--which is good in my view. You can eat in the bar in the front, in the restaurant proper, or (in the summer) outside. The decor is interesting, as is the menu. The service is very good--particularly at the bar,... More
