Small and unassuming place but amazing food! Chimchura steak was one of the best I've had! Kids shared and loved the huge portion fajitas and the Tres leche cake was amazing! Cash only though so be prepared. BYOB

We have been to Tortuga's a number of times and the most recent experience last night, is at the very heart of the standard experience of this BYOB restaurant. Essentially, you find very good Mexican food (including the complimentary salsa and chips) in a very popular casual BYOB setting that you may drive by - - as it literally in... More

A cash only local restaurant that is my favorite Mexican restaurant anywhere. Skip the chains and come here.

Poor service. The servers were not particularly UN-friendly but they were not friendly either. They got snippy when I asked about why they charged us for "more" chips and salsa (which I thought was a customary and complementary nosh food) It was a pretty decent experience until we got the bill and were charged extra for the extra chips and... My husband and I came here on an impromptu visit on a Sunday night. We were thrilled with the results. They have wonderful dishes, rich moles, enchiladas and other dishes. I also enjoyed their chile poblano which was clearly a hit around the restaurant. They have Jarritos sodas which are just a little less sweet than American sodas and worth... More

There is a reason why this place often has a bit of a wait. Yes, it's that good. We were a group of eight, and we order many different items from the comprehensive menu. Everything is exceedingly fresh. And it might sound a little unusual, but the chicken soup was the best I have ever been served, and two others... More

This is the best authentic Mexican Restaurant I have ever eaten at in NJ. The service is great and the food is excellent. I go here a few times a month. I get the California Burrito, though I have gotten a few of the other dishes and they too were really good. Best thing is this a BYOB.

Warning: Cash only! I didn't know that going in and was scrounging in the seat cushions when the check came. We were looking for a local restaurant for a day trip to Princeton and found this one on TripAdvisor. Since we love Mexican food, we thought we would try it. The other reviews recommended the combo plates so I had... More
