Fresh naan, delicious mughlai chicken, tasty Tikka masala chicken, reasonable prices. Had a craving for Indian food and my husband comes here with friends once in awhile. Modern simple interior. Worth the drive.

The food was good and I think authentic, and the staff friendly and attentive. Does a lot of takeout. Decor is utilitarian.
Stale biryani. stale microwaved food. The chicken was smelling when it has has been frozen since many months. Every dish tasted more or less the same. Plus the staff were not friendly and hospitable. I would not go again nor recommend them to anyone.
This is one of the best restaurants in New Jersey. I heard about this place, but never tried before. I had the opportunity last Sunday to entertain my friends in Edison(15 families of about 60 people) with food freshly made from Persis Biryani. I requested...them to deliver both South Indian and North Indian platters(Thali and lunch box) with customized menu (mild to moderate spicy) to satisfy both North Indian and South Indian palette. They delivered the food packed tightly in a very presentable and Hygienic boxes Nan individually wrapped in aluminum foils, sambar, rasam, curds and pickle in small containers including carry on bags and disposable cutlery. Due to heavy snow it was difficult to deliver on time. With few minutes delay they managed almost on time. The food was exceptionally delicious and very palatable. These are not only my words, but all the 15 families provided the same feedback and were inquiring me about who made and catered the food. Looks like children also liked the food and were asking for more. Personally the highlight was their vegetable “BIRYANI “, palak paneer and GONGURA pickle. Not to forget their RASAM. Vada was also very good. I will not be doing justice, if I don’t mention their bread(Naan). I am going to explore more in coming weeks by ordering various South Indian and North Indian menu items from Persis Biryani and their sister organization “Indian House of Dosa”. I highly recommend these two places for the lovers of Indian food. I will update this review or write a separate review after I explore other menu items at a future date. Please go ahead and try for yourself. “BONAPETITE” Finally I must mention about their professionalism and hospitality. I don’t want to mention any names, but both management management, staff and delivery services exceed expectations.More
Unless business associates would have recommended Persis the thought of dinner was not on our minds. In a nondescript strip mall on a busy street. Persis is simple, casual and clean. The food is solid all the way around. From the crispy Okra, Chili Chicken...(real good), Chicken Chettinadu, Paneer Tikka (very well prepared), Egg Biryani, Lamb Chops (ok) and Daal Makhni. The Garlic Naan was perfect. Prices are super reasonable. We ordered all the food medium and it was perfect. The area of improvement is the service. Seems to be family owned and operated, which is great, however a bit of multi-tasking going on. Good food, clean, simple will be back.More
Food is ok here. Because it's a mix of veg and nonveg restaurant, they should be more careful for serving the food. Noticed an insect fly in the food which we saw the server and he just said sorry and left. Not a good approach....Didn't like it.More
Persis Biryani Indian Grill is a awesomely good restaurant and take out place. We like the food. It’s perfect and reminds us the taste of our typical Andhra food.
What a wonderful restaurant. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very inviting. Awesome place to eat, we ordered Chicken Curry and Goat Vindaloo served with white steamed Rice, both were awesome. The Garlic Naan was crispy and delicious and I’d definitely recommend it....Very nice food.More
This place is great if you are looking for authentic biryani. They deliver also, itsget busy during the dinner time so if you are going to pick up food just call them in advance.
I had lunch at Persis this weekend. We were just visiting Edison and found this restaurant online. It is a small cozy place with decent ambience and the food was really good. We ordered butter naan, paneer butter masala, veg and chicken biryani. All were...delicious. Will be back if visiting Edison in future.!More

Ordered a chicken and a mutton Biryani. I liked them. Service was slightly slow and sometimes needed to call to get attention. Not a fine dining, but nice and cozy.
Have been here three times before. Every time the waiting time is at least half hour. We loved the biryani here so despite knowing this, we visited this place again. Three chicken biryani, one malai kofta and a roti +naan. As expected, malai kofta and...roti came in after 20 minutes or so. We waited patiently for biryani till half hour. When we asked the guy (probably owner) at the counter to check with our order, he went into the kitchen and sent another guy out. This guy, who took our order, said it would take 15 minutes more as they were making fresh bonelss biryani. He was speechless when I asked him that why didn't he tell us while we ordered. Yet, we said ok and waited. After 15 minutes, we were served a platter of samosa and told that biryani would be ready in 10 minutes. Finally after 10 minutes (almost an hour) we got biryanis. They mixed chicken 65 in it and served as chicken biryani. Not a single chicken piece that you would want to see in biryani. All fried chicken 65 that was undercooked. There were 3 ladies who came and sat next to us and probably wanted biryani. The same server told them that only veg biryani was available. The ladies left. So obviously he lied to us when he said fresh biryani was being made. We couldn't finish 3 orders of rice with chicken 65 so had to pack the leftover. We didn't complain coz we don't want compensation or discount for our next visit. Will never ever set foot here again.More
This place is known for its Biryani. The other dishes are good, but if you are in the mood to have some delicious authentic Biryani, then do order from here A must must have - Mutton Biryani
Ordering from this restaurant is an 'addictive' habit not only for me but for my family too. The non-vegetarian items are my favorite let it be the appetizer, biryani or the curries. The spicy Apollo Fish is something which we relish quite a bit!
