Authentic and delicious. We had Koshari and Foul Moudammas, both excellent, with Baklava for dessert. All was reminiscent of our travels to Cairo. The baklava, with pistachio pieces and raspberry drizzle, was so much better than the usual, overly sweet version.

We always dine here when visiting family. Everything about this restaurant is a pleasure and delight. Beginning with the quaint ambiance of the restaurant to the polite/professional greeting from the waiter (son of owner). His gracious demeanor and expertise while serving is a lost art....And the food!!! So fresh and flavorful; presented beautifully!! Why this establishment is not rated 5 stars across the board is shocking to us. Highly recommend this wonderful delight to your senses!! And thanks to the proprietor who delivers love and pride in every dish!More

There were 6 of us for dinner. Our first time at the restaurant located in Cobblestone Village. The restaurant is nice looking inside with Egyptian decorations. The owner was alone to take our order, prepare the good, and clean up. We all enjoyed the humus,...green salads, chicken kabobs, shrimp etc. my husband and I had just gotten back a week ago from Egypt and were happy to have a wide assortment of Egyptian food to have. We would definitely go back for lunch or dinnerMore

For a variety of reasons it has been a while since we dined at Cafe 28. We are pleased to report it is even better and that at least on the night we were there others agreed with us. Usually we reserve a table but...this time we didn't. We were seated without delay and served throughout by Kyle who was both front of the house, waiter, busboy and educator. We split an appetizer - eggplant - and salad. She had striped bass and I the salmon. It was topped off by an exraordinary rice/bread pudding and accompanied by rosewater in a pitcher and byob wine. Kyle explained that some of the chairs were being replaced but otherwise the decor and ambiance were perfect for enjoying both fine food and conversation. We should not take so long to visit Cafe 28 again. Reservations in the future may be a good idea...just in case.More

The food here is prepared with care and attention to quality ingredients. We started with za'atar and cheese. Thyme and akawi cheese made a perfect combination. Small family byob restaurant. We started dining here in Spring, 2017 (right after they opened). Always had good meals. Last eve, started with hot appetizer of roasted eggplant casserole, $10. Then, pan seared striped bass $18 and lamb shank special $28. Everything was delicious (and...generous portions). Service good by Chef Muhammad's son. Pleasant ambiance.More

We found this randomly looking for lunch in Ocean- really happy with the food! The cafe 28 special is perfect for lunch- babaghanoush, hummus, marinated eggplant, falafel, some chicken, and a little salad with flatbread. Food was great and the owner was our server. Prices...were really reasonable. I’ll definitely be back!More
