The food was better than average but nothing spectacular (though the salmon tartare appetizer was quite good). Service was very friendly and accommodating (and they handled it well when one of our orders was wrong). This place is a gem! Tucked away in a little shopping center, but once you enter, you feel like you are on Mulberry St. Authentic Italian cuisine. An amazing menu and their specials were good too. We received an email from them about their Restaurant Week menu, 3 course dinner for $30. We...decided to make the trip and I am really glad we did! The food was delicious as always and the bar drinks were perfect. Service was impeccable! We will definitely be returning more often. Very good food and drink in this upscale Italian restaurant in a nice strip mall. Somewhat off the beaten path but worth the effort to find it. Fabulous food always...very classy place inside with romantic side or bar side tables. Beautiful bar. Not a spaghetti and meatball Italian which you may think from its location in a strip mall. It is impeccably prepared maybe northern Italian , or even like Palermo. Fine...ingredients. Delicious food. And well trained waiters. This restaurant has it all. We've been coming for 10+ years and always delicious whatever we order. Nice wine list and drinks are great. Whenever we bring friends there they are always equally impressed.More
My girlfriend really likes this local place so I went with her for dinner. The appetizer portions were large enough for us as a dinner. She enjoyed the crab cakes which had a delicious sauce on them and I had an octopus salad which was...tasty. Bread was brought to the table. You have to ask for the olive oil. It was nice that they served the coffee with a small biscotti.More
This is by far our favorite restaurant in all of northern NJ. We eat here 3-4x per month. Fantastic food and service in a family friendly environment. Chef Giuseppe is always there with several members of his family and there are always familiar faces in...the restaurant or the bar area. The veal and the seafood are always amazing and the specials change frequently so there is always something great to eat at Giuseppe's. I've had birthday dinners, fantasy football drafts, and wedding showers here to name just a few. Always a great experience. Highly recommend!More

Giuseppe's is a quaint local restaurant that serves good food. However all that is overshadowed by the service. Not once during service did the staff stop by and ask if everything was ok or was there anything we needed. Only when we "flagged: them down...did they come to the table. We came back here because we enjoyed our meal here with friends last year. It has that old world vibe....we sat at the bar and had a cocktail before dinner. My partner asked for some pretzels or nuts and the bartender begrudgingly gave him the...tiniest amount of nuts. We then sat in the main dining room. It was a strange thing.....the phone rang in the main room SO LOUDLY, SO OFTEN that I felt like I was at my grandmas house....who is very hard of hearing. The wine list states that the wine pour is 5 ounces....which is normal I guess because the restaurant wants to get 5 glasses out of a bottle. Now I know the wine that we had.....it is about 14 dollars a bottle RETAIL (they get it for less)....and they charged 14 dollars for a glass. My opinion... is be generous with your patrons and they will be back! The food was good...we had salmon....a bit dry but tasty and the pasta was good, nothing extraordinary. Bottom line is there are so many good Italian restaurants in Northern New Jersey....next time I'll try another.More
Always order 'super take out' for our parties. You receive three trays of food that can feed a lot of people. always hot and delicious. our fav's. Chicken francese, penne vodka, and roasted potatoes. Priced so right!
Have been there twice and both times had great food. Owner is very nice and very knowledgeable. Can be found in the kitchen or at the bar.
