One of the two best restaurants in Newark. Bar can be a little busy a lunch, but the food is excellent and authentic.

I live in the neighborhood so just decided to try out this place. The atmosphere it's very cozy, welcoming, warm, feels like home. The stuff is very friendly , dinner was delicious. We share a paella and a Jar of sangria. And even had this guys singing anything you wanted to hear. I choose flamenco.😍

We were working in the neighborhood and we tried this place for lunch. With a fairly nondescript exterior, it is quite a surprise to encounter white tablecloths and waiters suited in black. Our food was very good and reasonably priced. The fish dishes are noteworthy and the soup of the day that comes with entrees was a hearty black bean... More

Casa Vasca serves excellent Spanish food from the Basque region. We all enjoyed the complimentary soup with wonderful crusty bread followed by salad and our entrees. My paella was tasty with fresh seafood. My dining companions all loved their entrees also---shrimp in garlic with saffron rice and a veal and crabmeat in a white wine sauce brought smiles all around.... More

We've eaten here several times over the years. I've always felt they had the best food in Newark, After this last visit, I no longer feel that way. I didn't want to believe the recent reviews, but our meal was really not that great. First, you need to know this place is always packed, and you are squished together. Not... More

Although I arrived early on a Sunday evening there was already a line of people waiting for the dining room. As I was on my own, I dined at the bar and enjoyed some very good Basque food - hake, clams and shrimp, in a green sauce. Good generous portions, a couple of decent glasses of Albarino, and the constant... More

EXCELLENT: Food, Service, friendly atmosphere. Took group of 43 Seniors to lunch and had nothing but outstanding words of compliments from the whole group. Appetizers, Main Course and Desserts outstanding. Would highly recommend it to anyone going to the city.

Very pleasant place with large portions of good food. Old world feel. Small but quaint. Very good sangria! Small parking lot on the side.
