I've been to Adega more than a dozen times, so it's way overdue for a review! I come mostly solo, on occasion with friends, and tend to sit at the bar to eat (the full menu is available here and many people will be eating full meals). The complex has a long narrow bar area and a more traditional dining... More

Racism still does exists in 2017 pretty sad. I've always heard good things about this place and the first time I wanted to try what a bad experience. I wanted to make reservations and the guy placed me on hold for 5-7 mins got back on the phone and said "oh actually we are fully booked" I had a weird... More

This is very concerning to see, Asia, and I can assure you that we will never discriminate against any person for any reason. I just left a pretty thorough response on another review platform, but I wanted to assure you that your concerns have been heard, and please do not hesitate to contact me with any further information or concerns.... Dined here a few days while traveling on business. Talk about ambience, presentation, and delicious food. The salmon stuffed with spinach, lobster, and crab was everything. Very good choice. I originally purchased the seafood pasta that was in a vodka cream sauce. It was a terrible choice. The sauce was runny and fishy. It tasted nothing like a cream sauce.... More

Everything was plentiful and delicious with one exception. The appetizer of mushrooms and lobster was delicious but the crab legs were nearly impossible to get into. The little bit I tasted was fabulous but they all were mostly uneaten because the shells were unbelievably hard. They should have cracked them before serving them. The main courses of paella and mariscada... More

Attended my uncle's 60th Birthday Party April 1st at Adega Grill. Started off rather aggravated due to the terrible parking conditions. You could barely make it through the streets because of double parking and God forbid you find a spot it's at least a couple blocks away. Once we got inside we were told that they have their own parking... More

Came here for a group business dinner. We had a private room, which was excellent, because we were loud. The menu is very extensive - and hard to choose, there are so many great choices. Adega also has several specials every night. Two people split the seafood platter - lobster, shrimp, mussels, rice - they loved it! We also had... More

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed or visit. We visited on a Monday and arrived rather early in the evening. I am sure this is the reason we were the the only guest in the restaurant. Just had lunch on Sunday with my family. Food was exceptional! By the way, one plate gives for two people in my opinion. If you like lobster try the stuffed lobster that's my recommendation. Everyone enjoyed it! By the way, the restaurant has parking on 98 Madison Street, Just remember before you leave to validate your ticket.

The food is great for late-night. For earlier dinner there are better places for food as well as wine. However the place is super pleasant and worth the visit.

With an accommodating and quaint atmosphere, Adega Grill in Newark is the hottest new place in the Ironbound section. Inspired by its name, Adega, meaning wine cellar in Portuguese, the motif of the decoration is of vineyards and wine making. From the moment you enter, tones of old world yellows, stone fireplaces, wrought iron cellar gates and sconces, soft candlelight, coves with upholstered sofa seating and friendly staff, it's an undeniable inviting space, nothing short of extraordinary. Two special occasion tables with antique throne chairs and live piano music add to the intimacy. Two romantic dining rooms cater to an elegant crowd, while the long narrow bar gathers a friendly and fun bunch nightly. The cuisine truly upholds the name of Fine Portuguese/Spanish Dining, seafood and fish, organic meats, the freshest ingredients and to maintain the tradition, huge portions are to be expected. The menu is seasonal and in addition to a varied selection of delectable dishes to satisfy any palette, daily specials are always featured. The wine list with over 180 selections is an ambitious one that keeps growing, but sure not to disappoint the discriminating connoisseur.
