How can you go wrong with a historical Jewish deli in downtown Newark NJ. Corned beef, pastrami, you name it piled high on rye and delicious. Oh, my and the pickles!

I'm at a business associate here for lunch after reading some of the reviews. Everyone was polite. The waitress was efficient as well. I ordered the special half pastrami sandwich with barley mushroom soup. The sandwich was great and the pickles on the table were a great addition. I really enjoyed the soup too. My friend had the pumpernickel bagel... More

Hobby's is an old-fashioned deli which has changed little in appearance over the years. The food is classic Jewish deli fare, with warming bowls of matzoh ball soup, and huge, flavorful pastrami and corned beef sandwiches. They also have delicious burgers, as well as incredible stuffed cupcakes and giant cookies. The people who own the place, and the other employees... More

Sandwiches at Hobby's are legendary, and for good reason. They're huge, and stuffed full! Traditional deli fare - including pastrami and corned beef (on rye with mustard of course!) Great for catering too.

Went here before a Devils game and the place was crowded, filled with Devil fans. Little expensive, but the food and service make up for it. Will def be heading here before Devils games in the future.

I love Hobby's sandwiches. I'm originally from Philadelphia but I've lived in Jersey the last 3 years. My husband who is from Newark knows all the go to places for all types of food. We don't eat at Hobby's often, but when we do we are never disappointed. The corned beef and pastrami on rye is delicious. Juicy and tender... More

Sandwiches are fresh, put together good very well and presentation is good, workers are pleasant. Those persons that attended the meeting really enjoyed the sandwiches and some inquired where did they come from.

Haven't been here for a while but it was very very good. So glad I stopped. Every time I eat here or take out the food is fresh piled high and tasty. You would be hard pressed NOT to like it yourself. Always look forward to eating here.
