Three generations of the Hobby family have run this deli, and one of them is almost always there to ensure good service and high quality food. The decor is Formica, so don't go if you want a romantic lunch, but if you want some of the best deli food in New York and New Jersey, definitely stop by. I personally... More

We love Jewish food so had to try this well known deli and we were not disappointed. Great relaxed lunchtime ambiance. We tried the half pastrami on rye and chicken home style soup with matzo ball, it was delicious. Big bowl of complementary pickles on the table and a refillable soda. Very reasonably priced and the staff were friendly and... More

I had a fantastic grilled vegetable omelet. The veggies were very fresh and nicely grilled, and the omelet could have fed three people. I ate half of it. One of my colleagues' order came out a little later than the others, since they used the wrong marinade. The owner was very apologetic and more than made up for the error... More

Hobby's triple decker sandwiches are the tastiest and largest sandwiches in the land!! I really enjoy the corned beef, with pastrami,(real) turkey and Swiss cheese wth dressing. I like mine on seeded rye bread. You can not eat the whole thing in one seating, therefore you have e other half for later. They also have adult drinks in the back bar.... More

Great deli with wonderful owners and friendly staff. Corned beef is as good as NYC, pickles at the tables are great!

The food ROCKS! What more can I say! I haven't tried too many things on the menu because I am too in love with what I already had! Some of you know what I'm talking about..lol! I really don't know what I like better,.THE LEGEND BURGER.....or the Pastrami and corned beef combo on rye! The portions are healthy and everything... More

Got stuck in Newark overnight after our connecting flight was cancelled. Trying to make the most of our situation, we looked up places to eat on tripadvisor. This place was delicious! Couldn't decide between pastrami and corned beef, so chose the combo of both! The pickles weren't my particular favorite, but they were a great touch! Really enjoyed our visit!

A family owned place for many, many years. Classic Jewish Deli with pickles and typical Jewish Deli menu. Nothing fancy but the food is great. Very popular at lunch time with the local crowd. Great experience if you are in the area. BTW they have liquor license. But it's not a drinking joint. The area around is kind of sketchy,... More

Great place. Loved the food. Service was great, staff very welcoming. Our hostess said I look really good (blush). It was a hot day and she made sure our glasses were never empty, kept getting us cold water and juice. Sweet lady.

Had lunch here today, and I was not disappointed! Immediately greeted by waitstaff and the owner, and promptly seated. Had their BLT on a roll, which was stuffed with lots of bacon, and evenly layered with tomato and lettuce. Due to its size, it was a bit messy, but who's complaining when you have a huge, delicious sandwich in front... More
