The food was made fresh to order and was delicious. Even better than the food was the owner who made sure I felt comfortable eating there knowing I have to be gluten free. They were very carful to ensure I could eat safely. They even added a free gf cookie. I will definitely be back and recommend them to anyone with or without gluten issues.

Few real authentic deli’s remain today. With the wood floors, scurrying wait staff, mile high ++ triple decker sandwiches, you bear the long wait and drool. Noisy, fun and delicious. Can’t beat the pastrami or corned beef. Best french fries. Come hungry.

I reserved a large table to go out to lunch after a sad occasion at the cemetery. Topnotch traditional Jewish deli food, with large portions. Be sure to arrive hungry! But the food is not what stands out the most. We were treated like part of the family. The manager gave us personal attention and seems to treat all the customers that way. As they say on their T shirt: "we were established before you were born!" I hope this family run restaurant remains in business "for your children and grandchildren."

They are open until 7PM only on NJ Devils game nights. Parking lot (fee) a block away. My friend eats here every game day but this was my first time. Pickles on the table when you sit down. We all had the pastrami on rye. Nice moist meat. Good taste. Prices reasonable. Server and service was wonderful!

He's got a lot of fame, there's always people waiting... but I think it's just because of the experience. It's not the best pastrami sandwich I've ever eaten. Let's say it's a tourist spot, but a thousand times better to visit Joe's Pizza

I've been to Hobby's on several occasions - sometimes with just a few of us, sometimes in large groups. I've never had a bad meal there. In fact, I've never heard anyone say that they had a bad meal there. This place is a Newark institution! I wasn't there to see it when it opened in the 1960's but I feel like not much has changed - and that's a good thing! The staff is always great, the portions are large, the prices are right, and the food is delicious. Our favorite meal is the Chico Reubon. Yum!

I went there recently got a brisket sandwich. Open face it was to die for. The sour tomato are the best. It was definitely worth the price. Both the waitress and young lady name Kim who helped were both some helpful. Will be visiting again

Awesome people and amazing food! I was fortunate enough to be able to stop in for lunch and it was such a great experience. Our server and both Brummer brothers were so very accommodating and welcoming. They are very proud of their business and it certainly shows!

Hobby’s has great deli food, with large portions, quick and friendly service and good prices. The onion rings are excellent, as are the pickles on the tables. We’ll be back!

We’re from Winnipeg Canada and we were staying the night in a hotel before we head home. After we checked into our room we decided to go find something for lunch so we checked with the front desk on their recommendations for a place to eat and it just so happens that one of the owners of Hobbys was in the lobby (Michael) he said he had a place and if we wanted to follow him he had the perfect place. He laughed and showed us his shirt🤗HOBBYS DELI. We chatted and headed to the Deli and the sandwiches and soup were amazing and the decor was New Jersey Devils sticks Jerseys and pictures of the Delis history. Staff were very friendly and Thank you Michael for an experience that we will remember.
