For Years my family and I have been going to Picnic BBQ and Restaurant. The food and service are still fantastic. One of my favorites in the Ironbound.

Had the 1/2 chicken and fries. It was delicious. Quick service, plenty of food, great prices. Parking can be a little tough, but other then that, it's well worth the visit. I will definitely be back.

I often go to this place for lunch and the food is just great. Because it's BBQ the prices are also reasonable. Staff is attentive, kind and quick.

The place is great, the food is good and comes in huge portions though the service is slow because the attendants always appear to be busy taking care of something else.

We found Picnic when the other Portuguese barbecue that was recommended was too full. Casual family atmosphere. Menu is easy to figure out. Menu items very affordable. The salad was very crisp, delicious, light on the palate with olive oil- based dressing. Our friends had the super combo... Very generous portions. A variety of grilled meats: chicken, beef, pork ribs.... More

And I have almost tried them all. More varied menu than some of the BBQ Only places. The dishes are really top notch and prepared simply but wonderfully. Definitely get the ribs. In fact, anything that they make with pork is a must. Eating in the restaurant is fun- it is low key for certain- and the waitresses are very... More

Can't go wrong about this place. Good price. Numerous times we came all the way from Lyndhurst ordered for take out. Yellow rice was good. The only negative was parking could be difficult sometimes.

I ordered the ribs, fries, and black beans for delivery. The food arrived in a timely manner, however the ribs came completely dry, no barbecue sauce or anything. They didn't deliver any plastic wear with the beans, so I was was unable to eat them, and the fries were mediocre. For the price I was hoping for something better.

They have great service and delicious food at unbelievable prices. Talk about getting your money's worth. Invite a group of 7 friends and the bill was amazingly low and we were super full.

A very unassuming place in Ironbound Newark. If you are familiar with Ferry Street and the more well known resturants, this place will not excite you. It has all the classic menu items of a churascaria, and remindes you of a typical roadside resturant in the mediteranian. Large portions, very affordable (they even offer half size portions) and everything is... More
