Great value Brazilian steak/burger bar

Decided to try this place as my partner is Brazilian. It isn’t a burger bar, instead a very good steak sandwich cafeteria. The meat is picanha which is a sirloin steak. The quality of the meat was excellent and the sandwiches are very well made. It is a cheap option in the Ironbound district which is a largely Portuguese and Brazilian neighbourhood. My partner said it was the best burger he had ever eaten. We also had pudim and cochinha which again were great quality. Would definitely recommend.

fun place...what every casual restaurant should be

Brazilian sandwiches, which are huge and full of flavor, are the specialty here. Chicken and Picanha varieties are my favorite. Prices are only a little higher than fast food, but this is a different experience... Like a great home made sandwich with lots of exotic fixins, that complement each other well...like BLT, ham, potato sticks, mayo, and more. It's not diet food, and doesn't pretend to be! Ask for your sandwich on a Portuguese roll for best result. The croquettes are nice, Galao coffee and oversized flans are good too. I have come here for years for years and was never disappointed, Don't be shy to bring half a sandwich home... unless you are crazy hungry!

Great Brazilian food

The cheese pastel tasted just like the ones I've eaten in Brazil. Their take on a hamburger must be ordered - large portion and excellent flavor and texture.

Atendimento uma bosta!!!! Horrível! 1 kg de maionese no lanche. AWFUL SERVICE! After years coming here service got worse. They don’t come to the table to take the plates or to ask if you want something else. Povo devagar! Péssimos!

Worst customer service! Gues or whatever his name is had the audacity to tell me that it wasn't his fault I was forgetful when they were the ones who forgot one of my orders in the first place! Never more! I only buy here because the one across the street is always busy but never more!

Worst experience ever

My husband and I order two sandwiches and two orders of chicken nuggets for my kids they bring me the sandwiches and just the French fries for my order well my kids start to eating the French fries ten minutes later the waiter bring me chicken wings and we don’t want to make troubles for that just we take that but my kids doesn’t eating this, just we deciding to take out the chicken wings maybe my older son want to eating them in home we tell the waiter we want the chicken wings for to go he took the plate and never come back my husband go to the register for pay the check and ask for the order to go and the waiter say he trow away the chicken wings ( was a full order my kids don’t eat anything of these ) I can’t understand how he think we don’t want this how he can’t hear us when we say we want for to go .we finish pay 56 bucks for two sandwiches and two orders of French fries we choose just to leave because if we start to complain is gone to take a lot of time and for the kids just we want to go home but never come back to this place .

We stopped in for lunch for the hyped cheese tudo, we got them on rolls that were hard as a rock. The burger itself was overcooked and dry. All the fancy topping in the world can't disguise bad. Never again.

Unfortunately this place everyday is worse and worse They have good food but very bad service 1/30 to get my food I told them between that time it was already to long and that I didn't want cold food the lady said don't worry about it like it's no there problem When the delivery came food was very cold So I send the delivery back Manager talk to me and said I'll get the food back to you and ill give you credit for something and food never cameback Waisted 3 hrs waiting for food with guess on my house Terrible I do not recommend Save your self a bad moment and just Call someone else

I dropped someone off at the Newark airport and decided to have a lunch around. Googled places and found this places with best reviews. Well I knew tastes are different but did not know it can be so much different. I am a burger fan. At the register I said I want a beef burger without any other stuff. No mayo, nothing. Menu was quite hard to figure out. They brought me the burger , attention: with hard piece of beef , ham, fried eggs and bacon.... WOW...! I told you I want plain beef burger. It's good I also ordered a fries. It saved me cause I was starving. Food quality is very poor. I guess local people like the place but it's not definitely for everyone. PS. The public restroom in cafe was busy for about 20 minutes. A waitress came out of it and in 2 minutes she delivered my food. This is not something you want to see. Big No.

Being from Brazil I wanted to try this place out. We ordered 2 coxinhas, and 1 hot dog. The coxinhas were good, the hot dog not: they forgot to add the tomato sauce to it. I asked about the sauce and the lady added 1 spoon of it. I felt lost after that. During check out I asked for a beijinho and as I held it I could tell it was hard as a rock. I end up not taking it home. Customer service was bad. The girl who brought our food had an unhappy face and no one acknowledged when we said thank you 2x on our way out. I should went somewhere else. Maybe Bethel like some friends suggested. First and last time.

I love this place

Whenever I go to the Ironbound I try to go here. The Burgers are big and juicy with a Brazilian twist which I really love. These are tasty and good, don't hesitate to go here.

OMG - The Burger was HUGE, and AWESOME!!!!

We don't have a lot of experience with Portuguese food, so didn't know what to expect. This place is located in the iron bound area of Newark in a little corner shop that also sells baked goods. When we showed up, about 2 PM on a weekday, it was packed. After getting some recommendations from the waitress, we ordered a couple of burgers and a couple of orders of fries. My burger was actually a steak sandwich, that was ginormous. It was covered with a lot of stuff, including potato shoestrings, corn, bacon, an egg, and ham, among some other stuff. It was incredible. The wife got a burger that she couldn't finish, but she did try - very hard. One of the kids ended up with a shredded chicken sandwich - much the same - incredible quality and massive amount of food. I guess what I am saying here is if you like burgers, this is a great choice. You probably only need an order of fries for your party.

Good Messy Burger- Hamburgao

Simple small place for huge messy burger if you're craving such. Not my preference for lunch break from work but maybe when im out on the town having drinks and craving for a huge messy burger thats loaded with fries. Alcohol can do that to us as you may well know. But if that's the case then this will satisfy that craving. Reasonable price for such. Satisfy that good huge messy burger craving here and continue on your travels in the Iron Bound to explore.

Good burger and empanadas, great value

This is a small hamburger place down neck in Newark. Parking is somewhat of challenge. Burgers are very good and pretty big. For $6 or $7, you get a really nice size burger with plenty of toppings. Beef empanadas were excellent, chicken was ok. Dining area only has a few tables. Overall, really good burgers at a reasonable price.

Best of Newark!

The best burgers in the area, we had the option of trying several different burgers and combinations and I am still unsure of which one I like the best! They were all delicious! Definitely coming back to this place!
