Mesob Ethiopian Restaurant of Montclair, NJ is a favorite for both vegans & meat lovers with its authentic Ethiopian food. All of our foods are prepared with imported Ethiopian spices prepared daily. The friendly staff and warm decor makes Mesob the perfect place to relax with family and friends. Our Injera, a delicious sourdough Ethiopian flat bread that you wrap your food with, makes Mesob a favorite with kids, where it’s a treat to “eat with your hands.” (but we also have silverware, if you prefer!)

Taking care of business in the area, I decided to try something different. Meson was great! The waitress was very friendly and answered all my questions. I’ve had Ethiopian food in other places in the world (not on Ethiopia) and this was among the best!...More

We’ve been to Mesob a few times since moving to Montclair in 2013 and it never disappoints. The service is always friendly and attentive. The food is an adventure and the spices and flavors are unlike what you would find in other restaurants. It would...More

Delicious food presented in an authentic (as far as I know) way. Each dish on the plate is distinctive and eating with your hands adds to experience. Great for families or couples.

The gluten free injera was amazing (call in advance), as were most of the dishes and vegetable sides. Order the cabbage and potato side and avoid the collard greens. Farmer cheese appetizer is also very good

What a delicious, satisfying lunch. I had Doro Tibs with Injera, which is a spicy chicken and veg dish. I ordered spicy, but it's not that spicy. Food is served without utensils; use the injera (pancake) to scoop the food. $20 lunch, plenty left over.

I got the vegetarian sampler with 6 different vegetable servings. The Azifa and Tkal Gomen were ok, but the Dinich wet was excellent. The Shirt, Kik alicha, and atkilt alicha were also good.
