This was very convenient as I was staying at the nearby hotel. I had been once before and not had a great experience due to poor service, but that was not the case this time. I arrived early enough to get a seat at the bar and enjoyed great conversation with the bartender and her locals. Ordered a burger and... More

We stopped halfway up to upstate NY and stayed at a hotel right next door to the Mason Jar. We were tired and hungry and decided to walk over. Place seemed fairly busy for a Thursday night. My wife and two friends had burgers. I had the prime rib sandwich. All were excellent. Slightly on the pricey side, though. My... More

Went for the first time , I had a burger and fries nothing to complicated although the menu had so much stuff that looked good. The bacon was thick and crispy so tasty the patty didn't seem cheap neither did the bun. Fries were similar to a seasoned steak fry which was great too..no complaints and I'll definitely go back

You can rely on this joint to serve great food and drink. Atmosphere is great and the clientele young and happy.

Went with wife and kids after snow tubing for lunch. We ordered Pizza. Burgers and Chicken Fingers. The Pizza sauce was not good at all so it actually killed the Pizza and the Burger was very dry. The chicken fingers were the only decent thing we ordered. The best part was that the drinks were served in Mason Jars. One... More

We're sorry to hear you didn't love what you ordered for lunch at our place. It isn't like us to serve dry burgers and sub par pizza sauce, so we're surprised to hear that was the case for you and your family. We'd love to have you all back to prove that everything on our menu is perfect for refueling... More

Hello fellow readers and fans I visited the Mason jar with my family and my best friend over Christmas break . It was convenient to our hotel. Well next time I will drive the two minutes to the Mahwah Bar and grill for better food, less expensive and nicer staff. First off the potatoe skins tasted like rocks found on... More

We're so sorry our staff didn't make you feel welcome at our place. Our service should make you feel at home and encourage you to come back, and it doesn't sound like that was the case when you came to see us over Christmas break. For that, we sincerely apologize. Thanks for letting us know where we need to improve... More

The Mason Jar has been around for a long time and I was looking forward to rekindling my relationship with the local watering hole. I went for lunch last week and was disappointed. The place was empty so tables were plentiful. The burger, quesadillas and the fish fry that were ordered came out good and everyone said their meal was... More

We're sorry that salad didn't come out the way you ordered it. It's not like us to forget the little things, but it sounds like we dropped the ball when you came in for lunch. We apologize for that, and hope you'll give us another chance to make it up to you with stellar service and tasty food. All the... More

We stopped by the Mason Jar (on our way south from Vermont) because one of our colleagues said "I used to come here all the time with my Dad after we went hiking in the Ramapo Reservation and it was great!" Well, time changes things and so does perspective from when you're a little girl to a grown woman. Parking... More

This used to be my husband's favorite hang-out with his co-workers in the '70s and '80s, before we even met. Then I relocated to NJ in 1985, and it became my favorite hang-out with our co-workers. We no longer live in NJ, but make it a point to visit the Mason Jar whenever we're in the area. We recently stayed... More

I wouldn't suggest that everyone do what we did and eat here every night of a 4 night stay. Heavens, there are tons of great restaurants in Northern NJ! However, the Mason Jar was within walking distance of the hotel and all our NJ friends could find it easily -- hey, it's been around for years! And my husband and... More
