The owners and chef are Japanese and capture the true flavor of traditional Japanese cuisine. Most other restaurants in the area are run by Chinese families, who don't get the flavor quite right. For a real treat, try the chawan mushi. Casual atmosphere and great for any group of people.

Been going here for years, you won't find better sushi in the area. It's always fresh, tastes great, and expertly created by a real Japanese sushi chef, trained in Japan.

I order from here for lunch a lot. I don't do sushi, but their menu is varied and offers something for everyone. Staff is very friendly, fast service.

I've been here a few times now. With and without the kids. The food is always fresh, service is always good, the portions are a good size and the prices are reasonable. We always get the kani salad appetizer, we also get the Volcano and Craig Rolls, because we like spicy food. They are not OMG spocy, but have a... More

We went on a busy Saturday night, which was probably a mistake. The food was very good and portions ample. We tried a mix of hot dishes and sushi. Will go again. I liked the steamed eggplant stuffed with shrimp.

After a relatively difficult start some years ago, maybe partly due to its location not in Main Street, Takuma now is a premium well known restaurant in Madison NJ. We have tried all the "Japanese" restaurants around and it still is by far our favorite one. Takuma-san is a real true Japanese. He has not taken vacations for years and... More

We come here very often, never disappointed. Sushi is unbelievable, salmon teriyaki is probably the best I have ever had, regardless of price. Fantastic family stile service. Enjoy!
