There were five of us for dinner so we decided that we were going to order several appetizers and share family style. We had gyoza, shumai, an assortment of tempura and several permutations of raw fish. The gyoza, shumai and tempura were all delicious. The tempura was lightly battered and cooked perfectly. The gyoza were small and delicate and not... More

By far Ota-Ya has the freshest, most delicious sushi I have ever had!! It's off the main street going through Lambertville, NJ which is a wonderful little town to visit as well. I have to disagree with another reviewer and tell you the staff could NOT have been MORE friendly toward us!! My husband ordered tempura and he couldn't have... More

All the locals know this is the best place for sushi as long as you are willing to put up with the unfriendly, brisk wait staff. It's BYOB and the price is great!

The atmosphere is not the best, but Ota-Ya consistently serves the best sushi in Lambertville. We have been regulars there for several years.

I must say we were pleasantly surprised to dine here despite so many negative comments. We first ate here close to 13 years ago and it was very good so we decided - what the heck we have a bottle of sake so let's go for it!! You can't believe everything you read - we found the appetizers, sushi and... More

This is a great find and we did find it. We were not disappointed with their angel sushi and their dinner box. BYOB so get sake across the street and have them heat it

Ota-Ya Japanese Restaurant is a Japanese eatery offering creative sushi rolls & hibachi specialties in a BASIC settings. A bunch of friends catching up. A not so formal place. Attentive staff and friendly and accomodative. It gets a little noisy but let's blame that on the wine :) I recommend: Seaweed Salad Unagi Don Shrimp with vegetable tempura Chirashi Sushi/sashimi...
