The exact origin of the name Hopatcong is unknown, though it is most commonly attributed to the Lenape Indian word for "stone water," or "stone over water". Paying tribute to Lake Hopatcong's Lenape Indian roots, Stone Water is the region's newest lakefront dining experience. Created by Joe and Lisa Leifken, in partnership with Gary Whitman of Windsor Capital Management, the restaurant features a magnificent East Coast influenced menu created by Executive Chef Domenick Torlucci. Stone Water delivers new-age American cuisine that draws upon inspiration from the wonderful food of Spain. Had a gift card so wanted to try it. Service is excellent. It is pricey but the food is good. Great views of Hopatcong. Had lobster rolls (2-mini ones for $18), and filet mignon. Nicely presented. Great for date night.

Stone Water is a beautiful restaurant without a doubt. We totally enjoy the atmosphere. However, the food is very average but very expensive. My mother ordered a simple hamburger that fell apart so she had to eat it with a fork. I got the lobster...More

The space/view are fantastic. Best restaurant space on the Lake. Some of the food was fabulous, some good and some pretty bad. The fab - the starters - everything we had was good. Best were the Japanese eggplant and the tuna ceviche, though it was...More

Considering I had been to Stone Water before and found the food fine, needless to say this visit was very disappointing. I ordered the French Cut Roasted chicken. It was hard and extremely dry. Probably old. The risotto was a pile of mush floating in...More

They have valet parking that uses two of three parking lots. The third lot is for self parking but is a bit of a walk.
