The exact origin of the name Hopatcong is unknown, though it is most commonly attributed to the Lenape Indian word for "stone water," or "stone over water". Paying tribute to Lake Hopatcong's Lenape Indian roots, Stone Water is the region's newest lakefront dining experience. Created by Joe and Lisa Leifken, in partnership with Gary Whitman of Windsor Capital Management, the restaurant features a magnificent East Coast influenced menu created by Executive Chef Domenick Torlucci. Stone Water delivers new-age American cuisine that draws upon inspiration from the wonderful food of Spain. The service was wonderful staff was fabulous......food nothing to write home about....I had the...chicken panini chicken was very dry in fact the ends were really hard. My sister had the Stone Water Burger. She asked for medium and got very rare.. neither one of us is in the habit of returning food. we ate what we could and thats that. but im very disappointed because it was not my first time going there .. i have bee going there since its openingMore

Wonderful staff....(Corey and Emma)!! Sat outside and was extremely cold. Had we known, we would NEVER have accepted the reservation (should have heaters on porch or make patrons aware)....Table next to us sent back their poached eggs....my son could not eat his either (totally raw)...Actually, my pork chop was the best I ever had...as was the delicious steak and eggs.....My son did not eat nor complain to "Emma" re: the eggs...but, the chef should have cooked them properly after the complaints received from the table next to us. Criticism meant to be constructive. Can't wait to come again...this time...inside and no poached eggs! Our family will definitely be back. Much more "good" than "bad"....More

Food fair. Husband’s dish could have been warmer. Asked for a medium cooked burger and it was rare. Very disturbing a lot of people walking around without masks. Several servers with masks below nose. One particular waitress would go to the bar to get her...drink order, pull down her mask and wipe her mouth and nose with her hand. When the drinks were ready put her mask on and pick up the drinks with the hand she just wiped her moth and nose with.Staff needs more education on COVID safety.More

Party of 10 and everyone had a great meal. No complaints at all and Service was great. Second time I have been there and both times good. A little pricey. Had the gnocchi and they were very light and not heavy or doughy like sometimes...they get made. Wife had lamb chops that were very good.More

This was our 2nd time dining at Stone water. Was pleased to see the checkin process was organized and managed with social distance. Our waiter Angelo was friendly and there when we needed and pleasant offering advice on the Menu. We went with lobster roll...& tuna ceviche appetizer. And settled on the summer solstice cocktail, the drinks were AWESOME & a refreshing change from the typical ginger-beer mule! Food arrived pretty quickly and The lobster was perfectly cooked and served in a warm buttery roll, next came the Tuna which that was complimented by avacado and pecans delicious! We finished with scallops risotto, which were perfectly seared with a smooth buttery texture, the grape tomatoes and asparagus in the dish were fresh and every bite a winner. Topped off by perfect weather and gorgeous view of the lake for a early Saturday dinnerMore

Had a gift card so wanted to try it. Service is excellent. It is pricey but the food is good. Great views of Hopatcong. Had lobster rolls (2-mini ones for $18), and filet mignon. Nicely presented. Great for date night.

Summers on the deck facing Lake Hopatcong while enjoying a flat bread pizza or one of the hot sandwich choices is all that is necessary to make Stone Water a go-to place. Super large bar makes for group meetings and I'm told the drink preparation...is spot on (I don't drink anymore). Food is usually very, very good but there has been slip-ups on relatively rare occasions. Nevertheless, all was forgiven but no certain as to whether it is up to the level it was when first opened. Valet parking on weekends. Reservations a must on summer weekends.More

We live 20 minutes from Stone Water, but had never visited. Rest assured, we will visit again. Service was immediate, friendly, efficient. Filet Mignon was HUGE. Try the Coffee Rubbed Ribs. French Fries w/ Truffle Oil and Parmesan are incredibly delicious. Stone Water is highly...recommended.More

They have valet parking that uses two of three parking lots. The third lot is for self parking but is a bit of a walk.
