A surprisingly large beer menu for a location primarily known for 8-bit arcade games and pinball machines. It also has quite decent food, and I really like the El Cubano sandwich and the Deviled Eggs. Fun stuff to do inside, although I still prefer to...sit outside on the pedestrianized area and enjoy watching folk go by.More

We didn’t go so much for the games, but the food and drink, and the choice to sit outside and soak up the early afternoon sun. The beer menu was surprisingly large, and featured many craft beers, including local brews — definitely a differentiator. I...had the El Cubano sandwich, and again, was pleasantly surprised at how good it was for a bar where the arcade games are supposed to be the big feature. My friends burger also looked very good. It was my first time there, but I’ll definitely go back again.More

This is a great place to bring a date, or go with a group of friends. Great nostalgia with games lining every part of the outer perimeter, and good beers and cocktails. Also lots of seating to chat.

We went here for a friend's 50th. I think we were under the impression that this was going to be a cool event space with tons of 1980's throwback arcade games. There were some classics like Pac-man, Asteroids, Galaga, and Frogger, but there could have...been so much more. The food served was below par and incredibly salty. The bar area was fine with many choices, which is a plus. I'd tell the owners to invest in better games that people would want to play and upgrade the food options as well and perhaps that would help. For now, not coming back here anytime soon.More

I'm 46 and i felt like I was 15 again. They had my 2 favorite games in the world which are Ms. Pac Man and Mr. Do. The place was huge, friendly, good drinks and good eats. Can't wait to go back.

I would just love to have this as my local bar but unfortunately I live in another country. We were on holidays and staying in NJ for a few days and visited Barcade on a number of occasions. Fantastic selection of beers with a comment...on each one on the menu to help you choose. The bar staff were different each time and each of them were brilliant including letting us know when it was happy hour so we could save money ! They even gave us another beer when we weren't keen on one we chose. The old arcade game machines in the bar were so much fun with places to put your beer and only 25cent per use. Highly recommend if you're in the NJ area (not far from Grove Street station).More

This is may favorite spot in Downtown Jersey City. Awesome craft beer selection which constantly rotates so there is always lots of new options to drink every time I visit. The walls are lined with old school video games if you are into that (I...am). The food is good and there are happy hour and daytime drink and food specials. And the service is also spot on.More

Great food and classic arcade games. Favorite was the old style Punch Out arcade game. Could spend all day playing that. Drinks were good but the food was even better. Not to expensive. A great place to spend time.

I've gone to this Barcade a few times and it's always a good place to meet and socialize with friends. I'm not into arcade games but the setup and layout of Barcade is one that anyone can enjoy. Very limited food options, so I like...it as a pre-post dinner hangout, come for the happy hour.More

I love having something to do beyond sit and drink. This place is packed with new and retro arcade games alike, and has a great craft beer selection to boot. My wife and I got a couple small plates the last time we were there...and the food is surprisingly high-scale and delicious! My only criticism is that it gets a little crowded at nights on the weekends, but it's tough to fault a place for being popular :-pMore

I've been here a couple of times and was very happy each time. The bar is dark and filled with arcade games but definitely great for late night fun and munchies. The nachos were great and good to share. The beer selection was excellent. They...even had some scratch beers from Troegs that just came out. The bartenders were super friendly and after talking about some of their new beers, they offered me a shot of their aged cinnamon whiskey on the house. What a fun place.More

I didn't like it. Took me back to when your best friend was the king of the latest fight game, and all you do is watch? Beer selection did look vast, but nothing caught my eye. The noise level was way high too, which I...really don't mind if the music is good?More

I didn't eat here, but did stop in the play the arcade games. The place is a pretty typical bar atmosphere, but with a bunch of old arcade games. Think Pac-Man, Frogger. And to play them is cheap. Most games are 25-50 cents. Where else...can you play games for that price? It was a fun way to spend a bit of time.More
