2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed yesterday NEW

Made our reservation for 4 people on 12 July 2015 for 1 October 2016, way in advance. The 4 of us were leaving on a cruise the next day and were staying at the Hyatt a few blocks from the Light Horse. Our driving was running late and we called to inform the Tavern we MIGHT be 5 minutes late.... More

I have been a regular at this restaurant since New Jersey adopted the ban on smoking. My favorites on the menu are comfort food. Their classic burger, meatloaf and fish and chips. The bar itself is our place to eat, drink, and swap stories with friends, and strangers. Bartenders and servers alike have become our neighborhood family.

We were on a weeks holiday to NY from Scotland staying at the Jersey City end of the Hudson. What a smart decision as we found plenty of quality paces to eat and drink within walking distance from our hotel. One of the best for both food, drink and service in a quality estanishment was at the Lighthorse. A special... More

Nice, kind of quiet place, maybe because it was a rainy evening. Raw oysters and clams, good. Mussels, excellent. The duck breast was medium instead of medium-rare, but quite good. Almost any kind of beer, we had an excellent belgian La Chouffe. Great service.

We had brunch here on 25th with daughter and her fiancé the day after her engagement. It was also her birthday, last of the 20 somethings. Mother and daughter had the autumn omelette while dad and fiancé had the huevos rancheros. Both very good but on the expensive side. Sat outside and enjoyed nice weather and nice food.

I had my son choose a restaurant to for dinner we hadn’t tried before and he selected Light horse. Has a very good reputation. We ordered sea bass, ribeye and shrimps and the food was average as was the service. Something we ate didn't agree with us. A shame as the restaurant seemed pretty good .

I always enjoy Light Horse. The menu is reverse with something for everyone. Good service, good wine list, nice civilized bar scene. It's a welcoming neighborhood hang.

The outside patio is very nice and the service is quick and friendly. The Sangria has an unique but good flavor and the food is fresh. We were there during their brunch and wanted to order off the menu and some items were not available but that was communicated in a professional and courteous manner. We settled on the Cod... More

I've been coming to Lighthorse a few times a year for ten or twelve years. They are a week run, high quality establishment. The food is consistently good and sometimes excellent. I find the menu almost always has something interesting on it. Service is usually very good. They do nice jazz evenings some evenings. Ask for a table upstairs or... More

It's always a great environment/setting. Not cheap, but we have taken out of town guests there several times and everyone has been impressed. They always try to accommodate us but reservations are suggested. Sometimes service is slow, but the food always makes up for it. Just a great neighborhood gem.
