I see the few reviews that say this restaurant does not serve "real" French food -- you'd have to ask all the French people who eat here why they come, again and again. Forget the Americans who think they know French food, perhaps remembering the tourist bistros in Paris that live off Americans. The food, ambiance and service here has... More

Went there for my husbands birthday and were very disappointed as the service was bad and slow. They forget to ask for drinks took them a long time to bring them, then one drink was not the one we ordered. Annoying! The food was not tasty at all. We had escargots they were OK, but the calamari in white wine... More

On the positive the space is really cool. Exposed brick throughout. Intimate, cozy, and lively. The food itself is just OK. IMO not worth the price, which is a bit high for JC. I don't know if they were having a bad night but the wine was terrible and $12-13 a glass you expect more. Wife and I had 2... More

This place was cozy and very small. The decor was crazy and unique. I liked that it was byob so it was less pricey. On Thursdays Manouche Bag plays music live. I'll miss the old location but looking forward to trying the new expanded one.

Went there with curiosity, but was very disappointed, the French onion soup was stuffed with Mozzarella cheese, on top of which some small pieces of Gruyere cheese were sprinkled, the broth was simple, not very taste. The main course was good, my steak was tasty and my friend's chicken was also good, but it did not taste like French cuisine....,... More

Someone at work recommended this restaurant to me so we tried it out one Saturday night. Luckily we went before 6, so there was still room. The restaurant only seats 30 in a warm intimate environment. This is bistro food as you'd expect to find it in France. The space is rustic, rather than faux french, also like you'd find... More

Our first visit to this very small, cozy place was excellent. We've visited France numerous times and this restaurant felt as if it was in Paris - small tables, close together but still private with an open kitchen. We called for a reservation about 2 hours ahead and they knew our name when we arrived. They have a set menu... More

Although it was not as good as I remember, the crepes were still delicious, and unique for Jersey City

The food is incredible. BYOB is an added benefit. It can be hard to get a table last minute so just call in advance (earlier in the day) to make a reservation.

Our friends introduced us to Madame Claude and were so kind to make a reservation (usually they only go here on special occasions as it is their favorite)! The service was extremely friendly and the food was great. As a vegetarian I did experience the same as in France and that the food choices were limited, but there was so... More
