A colleague kindly took me out for lunch last week in Amiya. By luck we turned up a little bit late, around 1pm, so the restaurant was very quiet and peaceful. the food is nice and plentiful, and the service attentive.

Reasonably-priced traditional Indian cuisine a block from two major hotel properties (Hyatt Regency and Candlewood Suites).

Since moving to Jersey City, I've both visited as well as ordered from Amiya on multiple occasions on days I've had cravings for restaurant style Indian food (I otherwise cook it at home and it probably tastes better too). My feedback for the food would be different for each one of those times. The first time I was happy with... More

I may have been spoilt with high quality Indian restaurants in the UK. But even taking that into consideration the food was not that great. There was to much rice which was just warm and the prawn curry was luke warm with not much flavour. The naan was the best item in the meal. I will try it again as... More

i had been a loyal customer of Amiya restaurant but lately have had continuous disappointing experience that I am forced to not return to the restaurant again. The buffet selection is now including items like egg curry and chicken curry that has more bones than chicken!! Also, in the 95 degree weather, the restaurant staff insisted I sit outside as... My Indian dining experiences from India always makes me excited when I go into an Indian restaurant even in another country. Here I would expect better ingredients and better hygiene.Checked OK! You have to be versed in Indian cuisine, if you eat the popular lunch buffet. Most of the dishes is pots and stews based in different color shades, orange, brown ...... More

I have been to this place couple of times. First time, I went for dinner and ordered main course. Food was terrible. Today, I went for Lunch buffet which was really good. Here, Amiya's staff needs to be educated about customer treatment. I went with my wife and when the check came, I saw 18% service charge in it for... More

If you like genuine Indian cuisine this buffet is an excellent choise and great value for money. We went for Sunday lunch and found the service excellent and the choice of dishes aromatic, tasty and beautifully presented
