Taste of North China offers New York Chinatown quality in Jersey City. Classic dishes are on the menu. What we particularly like is that you can customize many of them as to degree of spice (dried red chili), salt, and ingredients (onions, egg, shrimp, pork, etc.). We found their "medium" level of spice to be quite hot, so order accordingly. Portions are ample. We had delivery, so can't comment on decor, table service, etc. Food delivery closes before 9 P.M., so this is not a late night option.

Came here to get take outs with my friend for lunch. We ordered three dishes:
- Chongqing Small Noodle: not recommended in the future. Was told this was the hottest noodle dish they have but I did not feel anything.
- Chicken with Chili: highly highly recommended. There is an aroma profile coming from different spices and peppers. We both loved it.
- Pickled Pepper Frog: Recommended. Just hope the frog pieces could be larger for more satisfaction. Other than that, nothing to complain about this dish.
We were happy and will order from here again.

Looking for a change of pace, we want something sweet, sour, crunch, soft, salty, and fruity.
Sweet Sour Soup -
The shiitake mushrooms, cubed tofu, bamboo shoots, lily buds, plum sauce and lightly beaten eggs make a great combination with the sour taste of the vinegar and the sweet sugar in a rich thick soup. The bamboo shoots had a nice crunch.
Lo Mein Noodles -
The soft noodles absorbed the delicious sauce of the ingredients that the food was cooked with a ever so slight hint of saltiness of oyster sauce and soy sauce.
Chicken Pineapple Fried Rice -
The delicate chicken and fruity pineapple brought the fried rice to a higher level of taste and delight.
Our takeout food was cook very quick. Next time, we will dine in this nicely decorated restaurant.
With our selection, we had EVERYTHING WE WANT … at The Taste of North China in Jersey City.

Came here to have brunch with a friend at noon on a Saturday.
There are two entrances and both have been blocked. We called for help from both doors and second time the cashier came around and told us "can't you see I am busy"? Ugh. Our waiter on the other hand was very courteous and professional. Service was going to be four stars but with the attitude from the cashier (long haired Asian male) I will only leave 2 stars for service.
The shredded potatoes stirred fried with vinegar was very nice. My friend had it for the first time and liked it. I liked it too.
The Cantonese noodles with seafood was nice too. With the Jin-Kang vinegar (on the table next to the hot chilli oil), this dish was really elevated.
We also liked the stir fried pork with Peiking sauce. It came with tofu skin as a wrapper. Very delicious.

Fabulous Chinese Food! What a Find! Possibly the best beef and broccoli I have ever had. Tenderbeef, not overpowering sauce, broccoli crunchy. Sezchuan cold noodles were excellent flavor, not spicy. Shrimp and pork steamed dumplungs very good and plenty of value. A great find! Restaurant is very large, clean and comfortable.

This is one of the best Jersey Chinese restaurants. We have been ordering take out, so I can’t comment on table service and atmosphere. Our food arrives hot and within a reasonable time frame. Portions are ample, and everything is very good. Put it at, or near, the top of your list.

We've only had take out from here, so I can't comment on service and ambiance. For our first order we decided to stick to old favorites we have enjoyed in many restaurants: pan fried dumplings, hot and sour soup, General Tsao's chicken, and Singapore noodles. All were tasty, maybe not "Chinatown quality", but good. We'll be ordering from here again.
