When you are searching for restaurants in the area, it can be hard to know just which one to choose. Welcome to Twist on Thai Café, the best Thai in Hopatcong. Whether you need Thai takeaway, or you plan to dine in, we are proud of the restaurant we have built. Twist on Thai café is a family owned and operated restaurant and was created by "Ploy" Davis (ne' Anantawarasin) and her husband Ken. Ploy immigrated to the U.S. in 2005, has worked in the food service industry since 2006 and has always dreamed of owning a restaurant. The plan was to start slowly by catering out of shared kitchen and then work our way up to a restaurant in the future. However; when a luncheonette became available in our home town, we decided to accelerate our plans and… Twist on Thai café was born! Pleasant, friendly service and good food

Although I have lived in the area for 21 years and driven by the restaurant numerous times, I only had a chance to try it recently. I called in the order for pick up. The person who took my order ( I assume it was one of the owners) was very friendly and easy to understand. I ordered 2 lunch specials which came with soup or salad. I had the pumpkin soup which was flavorful and not sweet like butternut squash soup can be. The portions of the entrees were generous and everything was very tasty. Almost everything is available vegetarian, and many things can be made gluten free. Will definitely be back!

Ploy and her family make this the best place in town. The food is always fresh and delicious. They go out of their way to make your dining experience a pleasant and relaxing one.

Awesome food and service

I love this place, food is always fresh and tasty. We have family members who travel down just for their meals. Practices very safe measures during this unfortunate time. Always friendly and thankful to their customers.

Huge disappointment

I had high hopes for the first Thai restaurant in our town. To my utter disappointment, the food was no better then the freeze dried Asian food in a box at the grocery store. It was so bad, I haven’t been back and don’t plan on it. Surprised it’s still opened quite frankly.

Portions are really small

I had a day off from work and thought i would try this place. I was very disappointed because the portions were really small. The service was also not that great. I won't eat here again

First time trying Thai food.....

Family members wanted to celebrate birthdays at this restaurant. Since we had never been, we agreed to give it a try! My wife does not eat anything spicy so we have always avoided this place. What a mistake! First the appetizer sampler is filled with delicious items and all were enjoyed. The waiter was extremely helpful in explaning items and assured us they make everything fresh and can adjust the spices to our liking. The food was excellent! Noodle dish with sweet black soy sauce was very tasty and filled with flavor. The tamarind flounder special and the twist on Thai rib special were both delicious and the stir fy in garlic sacue was perfectly seasoned. We tried two desserts --the golden banana which is a fried banana in a delicate pastry with ice cream and chocolate sauce - and the special desert that night of bread pudding with ice cream and blueberry sauce --both topped off the meals perfectly. We are planning a return --could be our new favorite spot! If you are near this restaurant --it is worth a stop!

Great food and family

The food is consistently good. The Family who runs it are incredible beautiful people. Their friendliness adds to the already pleasant atmosphere. Love this place and I am so glad they are in Hopatcong.

One Hit One Miss

Unfortunately my husband absolutely hated his chicken royal pad Thai. The chicken looked like tofu and he said it was super bland. He hated it so much he told me to give 1 star. I couldn't do that because I loved my meal! I got the shrimp pad kee maow. A real bummer since we live so close was hoping this would be a go to place. Most likely won't be back.

I’m not an expert onThai food, but found this restaurant’s food very good. Went with a friend who eats here often and I can understand why! The family who owns, cooks and serves could not be more pleasant.

Creative and Delicious Menu!

Wonderful menu with all your typical Thai choices, have tried several selections over my visits here. Their "Twist" recipes really show the creativity of the chef - holding on to Thai guidelines but coming up with interesting and unique dishes. My scallops last night were so unreal that they melted in my mouth and I was stopped short of ways to compliment --they were so good. Homemade ice cream to top off everything is a true winner. The staff is very warm and friendly. I am ecstatic that I love close by, and it'a great place to stop if visiting Lake Hopatcong in general!!

Lunch Club Visit

Several of us sought to meet up from different places on Thanksgiving Weekend for lunch, and Hopatcong ended up being the most convenient destination. We found Twist on Thai online and met up there. The owner (we didn't learn her name) was very friendly and delightful throughout our lunch. The food was delicious, and she even turned off the Christmas music so we could hear some Thai music. Save room for the authentic Thai ice creams! The coconut was among our favorites. Based on our great experience at Twist on Thai, we decided our "lunch club" would continue to meet in a new restaurant each time we get together!

Stop for lunch on long trip

As a former Hopatcong resident, Twist On Thai Cafe was a favorite restaurant for my wife and I. Phoy is an excellent chef and Maitre De. We are now residents in Virginia, but visiting NJ this past weekend, just had to stop in at our all-time favorite place. In a word Twist On Thai is consistently outstanding! We have dined at other Thai restaurants. Although good, none have ever matched the flavor of Phoy’s creations. We have been gone from NJ for two years. We walked into Twist On Thai Cafe this past weekend and Phoy immediately greeted us by name an she remembered our favorite dishes! Two years later and she remembers these important details as if we were there the day before! Try every dish. You will be glad you chose this dining experience. Save room for desert, because you will want to have their homemade ice cream for desert. On a five star rating I give Twist On Thai Cafe a rating of ten!
