While strolling Hoboken, we saw this place that somewhat resembled these bistro type French style places in the City. It's online menu looked appealing enough, so we stepped in. The staff of three was friendly. What got me a little worried from the start is...that the waitress was not too sure what cafe au lait was. Ok. I let it go and we ordered. My La Bouche burger that I ordered medium rare, came well done. All other extras that were listed in the burger description were not seasoned and the burger was totally bland. French fries that came with it saved the day. The order of eggs Benedict were ok. I think. If this place aspires to resemble a French bistro, they ought to learn the secrets of seasoning. Disappointed.More

Stopped here for a sandwich. Use to go to the other location. Was surprised to see it’s now on Washington Street. I had the best sandwich, can’t stop thinking about it lol. Smoked Salmon. They use the best bread ( Balthazar’s) In fact off there...again later. It feels so European in the cafe and is a breathe of fresh air.More

My co-worker and I were early for a meeting and we wanted to stop in somewhere for breakfast. We strolled down Washington Street during an early Friday morning and found this little quaint and charming restaurant. A very nice selection of eggs, waffles, French Toast,...and other delicacies cooked fresh. I had the cheese omelet which came with bacon and roasted potatoes. As a coffee snob, I would say the coffee was good. My co-worker had a fancy omelet inside a croissant. She loved it as well as the Cappuccino she ordered. My omelet was very tasty and it was what I would expect from a cute and quaint little restaurant like this one. Must have been the presentation. Of course the bacon and roasted potatoes were a good accompaniment. Service was good and friendly and the prices were very reasonable. Nice ambiance and there is seating outside during the good weather months.More

This place was so good, we changed our plans and came back again the next day! A lovely cosy little cafe. The food is put together with love. Sandwiches are bursting with fresh and homemade ingredients. The proprietor, humble, helpful. The staff, friendly, engaging. Honestly,...if you are anywhere near, make this your next stop. The masala chai latte was perfect. To the owner, keep doing what you are doing. Other cafes and bistros could learn a thing or two from you.More

This cafe is adorable - slightly cramped inside, but on a summer's day it truly is a treat to sit outside and people watch. Food is very good. Slightly small portions compared to the norm in Hoboken, but the nutella French toast was heavenly. Service...was good. Overall very happy with my experience here.More

My girlfriend and I love this place; it's our favorite brunch spot in town! Very cozy inside and it does offer outside seating when the weather is right. As for the food and coffees - they're outstanding (I always seem to get the spicy wild...mushroom omelette and it never disappoints)! Waitstaff has always been very friendly and accommodating. The only negative thing I could possibly say about this place is that it's a bit on the pricey side. But it's sure to be a great brunch experience!More

Had brunch here today with our daughter and son in-law. At first we were seated near the door at a cramped table. We were about to leave, but the waitress changed our table. My wife and shared two meals:French toast with food and an egg...and cheese croissant.Portions are large and the food tastes great. It is too bad the place isn't bigger.More

I stopped here to grab a bite before heading to the airport. The banana Nutella crepes were a disappointment- they were really thick and oily. The prosciutto panini was delicious though. Cute little place but not impressive enough to entice me to visit again.More

Dear Kate, We had a problem with crepe machine for a short while. That is not an excuse though. We stopped serving while we missed your nutella crepe. We do apologize. Please change your mind and visit us again for us to prove our crepes...More

I have been here about 4 times and each time the food was amazing. Fresh ingredients, flavorful, good quantity. We came here this last time for a girlfriend's birthday for brunch. We had their french toast, eggs on toast with avocado, and potatoes, coffee, along...with a few other things. My tummy was full, but my mouth was screaming for more french toast. Adding syrup was an insult to it, because the fresh strawberry "syrup" was right on point. Both of my girlfriends- who came for the first time- loved it too! Can't wait to come back.More

Ive been going to La Bouche for about 5 yeras now and I feel that this review is long overdue. The place is decorated very french style, they have free wifi, it is definitely a place to chill with your tablet on a day off....the salmon sandwiches for breakfast are the best! the brownie is out of this world comes with a giant ball of ice cream. The service is great, no complaints...they have real Coke from Mexico. This place is really one of my favorites in Hoboken.More

Went for brunch, first time with my sisters and and niece and nephew.... Good lord we order too much and had a blast , too bad we didn't bring booze... Well I couldn't drink anyways. So we started off with a cheese plate w/ nuts...and tomatoes and some crepe... I had French toast very good, only ate half, they forgot to pack to rest for me. :(, but all good. We had salad, and so other stuff as well. I just remember not finish anything, because we were so full, w/ all the food. Brunch w/ hubby... Had a mushroom omelette w/ croissant on the side( pic added) , was very big and good, again me being pregnant still didn't finish it. I gave hubby the other half and he liked it as well. I also tried London fog tea for the first time, it was good, kind of like Irish cream & chai tea, too sweet for me though. I should have stuck w/ cappuccino . Which is good there. Hubby had the Croque Madame ( pic added). He said not the est he's had, I don't know what that means, oh well.... Place does get packed, it was both times we were there.More

We've been going to La Bouche for a couple of years now and it's really a great place on a summer or fall weekend morning. The setting is unpretentious and laid-back but the food is consistently good. We tend to order the same thing a...lot but the menu has a wide range of choices between salads, sandwiches and breakfast items. We became fairly good friends with a couple of the waitresses, and they're part of the experience also. Everyone is always very friendly and makes it feel like a real neighborhood place (which it is). Officially we're using February as our visit but we go all the time, usually at least once a month.More

In the heart of downtown Hoboken, NJ, along tree-lined streets full of brownstones, you will find this quaint, little gem. Great coffee and breakfast (love the french toast) at a reasonable price. People eat lunch here and dinner as well (BYOB), but I haven't yet....The menu is simple. You can sit outside at one of several colorful tables and watch the busy people walk by. This place is pretty popular, but a table is usually available. Service is very friendly.More

This little cafe has a surprisingly good brunch-- great egg & pancake dishes and a decent cappucino/espresso as well. Decent crepes too. While the interior is a bit small for seating, if you get there at a decent early enough hour (say, before 11) you...won't have a problem. Large groups will have trouble being seated here. When the weather is nice, they set up more tables on the sidewalk for more room.More
