My grandparents owned several bakeries in Germany, so of course I HAD to stop here! We picked out one dessert to share. Big mistake. I'm debating locking myself in a closet to eat the entire thing. So fresh and delicious. It's nice to have something a little bit different from the norm every once in a while. The owner was... More

Bakery is delicious - large variety of German desserts. Owners/staff are German and are able to give recommendations about different items. Recommend going in the evening - everything is 50% off (although selection is sometimes limited!).

I lived in Hoboken for years and this was my go-to bakery in town! The pastries are fabulous (Hazelnut croissants, Chocolate Mousse, Donuts, you name it). They used to have these round sugar donuts that were THE BEST. They are famous for their bread (customers from all over NJ pick up their loaves of bread each week). And the owner... More

You'll find wonderful cakes/pastries and breads here! We love going there for a good cup of (freshly ground) coffee, nice background music, friendly and patient service (they'll explain all the different items they carry). It is not a big place, but now their outdoor area is open again - so you can also do some people watching - love that!

One of my favorite bakeries in the US. Phenomenal pastries, cakes and breads. Using only European ingredients, everything is fresh and flavorful. Some sandwiches are served. Much better than the more popular bakeries in Hoboken. It is a favorite stop when we are in town.

I went there with high expectations. This is not a German Bakery by any means. The pastries are extremely expensive and not all that great. There is no parking because it's on Washington Street. I would skip this one.

I can't believe how many times I've been to Hoboken and didn't visit this place. What a wonderful gem in a city full of wonderful eateries. First of all, the baked goods are superb. I've been to a few regions of Germany and regardless where, the pastries were delectable. This bakery is clearly owned an operated by a German and... More

They have some of the yummiest and delicious pastries and cakes. Best in Jersey city hoboken. I try to visit once every 10 days just to taste different pastries they have.

Lived in Hoboken 5+ years - the German Bakery is legit! Everything - and I mean EVERYTHING - is home-made. Carlo's ships in bakery items from their warehouse. The German Bakery is SO good, family owned and of course, smells amazing. It's one of the best bakeries I've ever been to and I go all the time!

After having pizza at Grimaldi's, I still have space for a good dessert and Thank goodness I passed by the Old German Bakery and true at it's best, great dessert and pastries! My favorite bakery in Hoboken Neighborhood. Will definitely be back😊
