Great product taste. I ordered roti and classic daal. The quality of food is great. Their roti is also good, compare to other restaurants in the city.

I should not even give 1 star if there was such an option. I ordered pure veg food for my birthday party and every one in birthday party was pure vegetarian. I personally called owner and ordered veg food. I mentioned it is vegetarian biryani...and he confirmed the same. He delivered food and we didn't see what he sent till the time we started dinner. We never realized it was chicken biryani as we started with bread and vegetables first. One kid pick biryani and started eating and then she realized that it had some different taste and something was not right. Then when we checked, it was chicken piece and it was whole chicken biryani. We called restaurant , response was not good. Called owner and he said i can send veg biryani but we were already very late so we ordered pizza for kids. We asked for refund and he told that he could refund only biryani and nothing else. He asked us to call cops and do whatever we could and he didn't even care. This is my last order with them. I was a very loyal customer from past 7 years but today they just broke my trust. Whole food is lying down at our home while I am writing this as no one believed that other food was pure veg so everyone left everything as it is.More
The service was ok. We waited to be seated for couple minutes but no one ever came to the front, so we just grabbed a table ourselves. The food was average, nothing stood out for me.
This place is a dirty dive. I walked in and walked out. Not a soul inside at 12:30pm. Prices were high for that little place.
Couples night, excellent flavors love that it is BYOB, menu prices are reasonable! We ordered Paneer Pakora, Aloo Gobhi, garlic naan, and lamb vindaloo (not pictured). 4 stars since it is street parking and busy downtown area.
To start it all off, or server/cashier/the only employee we saw didn't speak very clearly. We tried asking him questions about the menu and he would just mumble back to us. Ordered the goat Tika masala, traditional curry chicken, and white flour naan. The server...first brought out this overly crisped giant tortilla chip and it led to udder confusion. Was this our naan? He then brought out the actual meal, so apparently this deep fried taco shell was just a "complentary appetizer". The actual meal was a good portion for a person and came with free rice. The goat was very fatty and had bones in all the small pieces ( It was interesting to eat to say the least). The chicken was very tender and the Naan was absolutely delicious with the curry sauce. Not sure if I'll go back, but this was definitely an amusing experience.More
Dear Max - Thank you very much for your candid review and overall positive rating. I genuinely appreciate your feedback, and we promise to work on improving the specific points of your experience going forward. We are glad that you enjoyed most of the meal,...More
It was an okay place. We initially thought they had buffet.. but they didn't. Quite expensive of what we ate. Per head we paid around 30$ !!! Not worth at all.. chicken was not cooked well. Naan was ok. Biriyani was also curry'ish. Not my...style.. waiter could smile. He was always serious .. Might not go back againMore
We ordered Tandoori Naan (no eggs!) that came slightly buttered, Dal Makhani (came with basmati rice, if I knew that, I would not ordered Jeera rice). Then I ordered Sweet Nimbu Pani and Masala Tea at the end. Dal, naan, chai – all was good....A Nimbu Pani was a small disappointment. I love how it was made for me in India. Here, it tasted so different from what I expected. I did not feel any cumin powder, black salt, fresh lime juice, mint leaves.… it looked and tasted like some black pepper was added to the 7-Up... We liked the food & service and will return.More
the chicken dishes are very spicy and tasty, The naan with garlic AND sesame seeds is just heavenly.
On visit from England to NY I ordered food from Tandoori Chef in hilton Ridgefield Park Authentic indian taste and best Indian food you can have outside india Don't even think of ordering from anywhere else otherwise you will miss the great Taste and Great...service .More
I love Indian food and so far this place has not disappointed us. I typically order the Lamb Vindaloo (very spicy) and my wife and kids love the Butter Chicken. The service is always excellent and the food is always steaming hot and taste very...fresh. The service size is good but typically you will need to ask for a 2nd rice if there are more than 2 of you eating. The only drawback for me are the ever increasing prices! It was once very affordable now the entrees are getting up there into the 20's, no longer a budget eat but still worth the visit. They have an extensive menu including many tasty deserts.More
The food is very good. The service is excellent. My husband loves Indian food and this is now one of his favorite places in town.
Excellent Indian food and very attentive, courteous service. I had the Saag Paneer, Papdi Chat, and the Gajr (carrot) Halwah for dessert. All were perfectly prepared and the chef accommodated our requests for different levels of spiciness. Our lunch was super pleasant and we can't...wait to go back. Definitely worth trying.More
Visited Tandoori Chef for a lunch buffet on Nov 8th, 2014. I called the restaurant beforehand to see which dishes were in the buffet. A few dishes mentioned interested me so I paid a visit. Whilst the choices are somewhat limited, this didn't bother me....For starters I went for masala fries and poppadums. Being a vegetarian, the mattar paneer was the main choice for me and was tasty. The great thing about a buffet here is they bring fresh hot naans directly to your table which is great service. There's nothing worse then cold hard naans within the main buffet like you find at other indian buffet restaurants. The naans themselves were soft and not too thick and heavy. The water was continually topped up, which shows their great service. However, for the negative. The buffet is continually let down (I've had their lunch buffet on many occasions) by the desserts which usually consists of a tasteless fruit salad. Gulab Jambu's or ice cream would be welcome. All in all the lunch buffet was a great experience, which left me feeling full. At $11.95 it is great value for money.More
Fantastic dinner tonight Saturday 9/20/14. We had butter chicken - awesome! And Naan basket - tasty! and chili chicken - was even better than butter chicken, & paneer pakora -kind of plain for me. Awesome food overall & awesome service! Very nice dinner. And this...place has been here for years and continues to serve loyal customers. Good job. And by the way, tandoori chef and next door tandoori dragon are the same restaurant and both sides offer food from both menus. Double the choices! Enjoyed our evening tonight.More
