The restaurant staff really helps when it comes to questions about certain dishes and their ingredients. The whole dining room setup makes you feel warm and welcomed. The food was really delicious and I would go back their again. I did find some of the items 'pricey' and was a little drawn back from ordering those few items. I did... More

I went at least 7 times in this restaurant. I went there first after the advice of a good Chinese friend, born and raised in China. The food is really excellent and quite different from the basic Chinese restaurant. A very good sign: every time I go there I see many Chinese customers, which to me means something. The Peking... Average to good NJ Chinese food. We ate 2 appetizers and 3 main dishes. Beef with Broccoli was sticky. Large portions.

My young daughter and I had a great early dinner at the China Chalet. We shared dumplings and prawn toast. I then had Beef Chow Mein and my daughter had Sesame Chicken. All of the food was delicious and the service prompt and attentive. I couldn't fault the whole experience.

We went for an early dinner, and we're very hungry after driving for several hours. We were quickly seated, and ordered our appetizers, shrimp toast and pan fried dumplings, which were delicious, and ordered General Tao's chicken and lo mein. These were an excellent and delicious combination, as we shared each. The sauce of the General Tao's was especially nice.... More

This luncheon visit again provided top notch food but!!! My major concern is the uncomfortable seating area. Some of the booth seats are worn out and most of the backs are just not as comfortable as they should be. My dining partner pointed out that the lunch sized portions are quite small so. If you are a big eater stick... More

Most of us had lunch specials - soup and enter for $9. Someone had a scallop entree off the main menu that was $13 and I've never seen so many scallops. Ambience is okay, but one or two grumpy no-speak waiters could spoil your visit.

Okay the food is terrific. I do agree that the waitstaff is not warm and friendly. If any reader knows a Chinese restaurant with better food post it here so others can try it

I went to the China Chalet in Florham Park for lunch this past Saturday. I was turned off they did not have the fried noodles and duck sauce right on the table. All they had was salted peanuts which was salty who wants to eat peanuts in a chinese restaurant when you always look forward to the duck sauce and... More

Ordered shrimp chow fun take-out. It was barely edible. Sticky, dry, tasteless, and expensive for a lunch special. The hot & sour soup was the worst I've had. Just dull. Co-workers had the same reaction to their meals. They are, however, very fast in the kitchen.
