Wonderful wonderful!! The owner, Jonas Gold does it all!! Food was great, service (by him) was outstanding! We had egg rolls and beef kabobs for appetizers-both flavorful with tasty dipping sauces. We all had burgers, each was perfectly prepared and delicious! Make a reservation and...go!!! We will be returning for the dumplings!!More

Jonas, the owner and cook, is simply amazing. You will not find a better restaurant and service anywhere around. His food, all prepped by him, is second to none. Feels like a nyc type of restaurant but in comfy down town Flemington. We like to...sit outside and take in the city views. Suggestion: ask Jonas what he suggests to eat. He has never been wrong. We cannot wait to ho again!More

Walked into have lunch. Was told that I could not be seated for 10 minutes ( many tables available ). I asked if I could sit and look at the menu and was told that if I wanted to eat and had any time constraints,...I should leave and next time, make a reservation. So rude , I left.More

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Flemington for a date night. Food is always authentic and delicious from the appetizers to dessert. You can clearly see & taste the love and passion the owner, Jonas, puts into his creations. What makes this place...even more welcoming than most restaurants is that the owner always comes out to greet his customers when not too busy or at the end of the evening. He cares tremendously for the town and for people passing through.More

Went for restaurant week pre-female, and loved the buffalo cauliflower and my wife enjoyed the short rib pot pie. However the miso glazed cod was sorely disappointing. Overcooked and chewy, my wife said “disgusting“. And she likes steamed fish. Should be pan seared, not over...cooked and then dish has some potential but would not order again either way.More

55 MAIN offers a wide selection of diverse continental dishes that will satisfy just about everyone. Dress code is casual and the interior decor is comfortable and inviting for both couples and groups. This restaurant is BYOB, so bring your favorite bottle of red or...white wine and / or beer to compliment your meal. I had the "Lamb chops and roasted potato special", which is not on the standard menu, so remember to ask if they have any specials before you order off of the main menu. The lamb was well prepared, but the portion was small and I’m glad that I ordered the salad wedge as an appetizer. If you are a big dinner eater, ask about portion size first, and then decide if you want to order an Appetizer and/or a Salad. I had the salad wedge which was excellent as they added extra condiments of my choice (olives) upon my request. My wife had the Boneless Beef Short Ribs - gnocchi, carrots, butternut squash, caramelized onions, pinot noir demi-glace., which she thoroughly enjoyed as well. I had the opportunity to sample the Wasabi Seared Tuna - gingered rice, Asian vegetable sauté, wasabi aioli, which was excellent. One of my friends had the Slow Cooked Pork Osso Bucco - mushroom and sun dried tomato risotto, pan gravy, which he thoroughly enjoyed and it was also a large enough portion to satisfy a big appetite. For Dessert, I ordered the vanilla/ chocolate mousse combination dish, which was excellent. Alejandra, our server, did a great job in helping us with our selections and with table service in general. Our dinner reservation was for 7:30 PM so there was more than adequate street parking in front of the restaurant. Overall I enjoyed 55 Main and wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a great meal at moderate prices. My compliments to Chef Gold!More

My friends and I visited during restaurant week and weren’t particularly impressed. The service was wonderful and bread was delicious. Our appetizers were ok...buffalo chicken meatballs were tiny and you got 3 with a mound of apple slaw. The salad was large and delicious; lobster...wontons just ok. For our entrees, none of us were impressed. The chicken fried steak was super thin and the coating had virtually no flavor. It was, however, a bit spicy for our one friend who had been assured that the gravy wasn’t spicy. The pork belly “corn dogs” had a decent flavor, but there was way too much soft fat inside. Perhaps if the pork bellies had been fried or crisped prior to coating them, it would have made a more appealing dish. For dessert, the pumpkin wontons were incredibly good and worth coming back for. So, while none of us left hungry, we won’t likely visit again any time soon.More
