Thank you, Trip Advisor reviewers! We arrived in Newark and knew we needed to find a local restaurant to eat before we continued our 1.5 hour drive west. There's a Michelino's Pizzeria and the Michelino's Restaurant and this review is for the restaurant. We arrived and walked into the door that leads to a neighborhood bar where everyone knows each other. We were thoroughly impressed with the friendliness of the host and we were able to choose our seats. Don't let the beautiful white table cloths and cloth napkins fool you, everyone is welcome. We had to piping hot bread baskets with freshly sliced bread sitting on top of butter to warm it up. With the bread came a delicious cold pepper topping and fresh tomato tapenade. The house salad comes beautifully dressed and it's a shareable portion. The main entrees are generous portions, too. We had pappardelle with braised beef and mushrooms and a rich gravy. We also had gnocchi served with a pomodoro sauce with delicious prosciutto. Then we also ordered vodka pasta-a cream based sauce with roasted red peppers-blended until smooth. Good was absolutely fabulous! We also ordered drinks from the bar. The service was excellent, too! Although the establishment is open to 11:00 pm, the kitchen closes around 8:30. You won't be disappointed if you make this your choice for delicious Italian food.

Stop by for a pizza and it’s definitely a treat.. I get lunch a few times a month from this place and it’s always good. The rib eye sandwich is amazing. The white pizza and the chicken bacon ranch are a must try.

Samir was our waiter. He was awesome! Everyone friendly, and service was great! The veal parm and veal Marcela was out of this world! A true Italian restaurant. Next time we visit from Arizona, we'll be back! Huge portions, great food and VERY reasonable.

Excellent ambiance by the fire with Christmas decorations. Outstanding Italian food with friendly helpful service. We will definitely be coming back next time we are heading Newark airport.

Went for a work related Christmas party. They put out a nice selection of appetizers, and then a buffet. All the food was enjoyable. This was my first time here. The parking in the area is challenging.

Another great meal. Tonight we had calamari as an appetizer. It was fresh, lightly breaded and more than enough for 2. I had the Pappardelle. An amazing beef and mushroom ragu over broad pasta!! My husband totally enjoyed his Linguini Mare Monte. Pasta with fresh tomatoes, broccoli rabe and garlic loaded with shrimp, mussels and scallops. Both dishes were huge and enough to box up and take home. Love this place.

After picking up my wife at the airport my son and daughter-in-law took us out to dinner the food was very good and they know them and they meet you at the door and take you right to a table . The waitress was excellent I have never seen such service anywhere I have ever been the food unique loved it drinks are excellent as well

Please don't think this is family friendly restaurant. Took my 3 kids there last night for pizza and at the end the 2 yr was cranky and acting like a 2 yr old. The manager screamed that she could hear because my kid was crying then tried to suggest that I was a bad parent because my child was crying. Fortunately for her, I more of an adult then she was and did not give her the verbal beat down she deserved.

Stopped in for my usual slice-of-plain and slice-with-sausage. Nice crispy crust. Not too doughy. Lots of nice tasting sausage, even with some cheese topping the sausage [nice touch]. And, a great value.

The place makes you wear a mask but the employees either have it down exposing their nose, others no mask, others covering just mouth and they are making the pizza or serving and handling. And no one its saying anything or being force by the city
