We have come here for many years but have not gone out very much with the pandemic and seeing how most places are operating. HOWEVER, River Palm has exceeded our expectations wonderfully! They have made a beautiful outdoor dining area complete with a rug and...lights to make it far nicer than being in a parking lot. They spaced the tables nicely and have their staff all working together to make your meal special. The indoors is also very well done to make you feel comfortable. This is so important for us as we are not twenty something! Our waiter Saturday afternoon as Jose, very nice and accommodating to a special request I made. I really wanted salmon but not as it was prepared this day. He assured me it was not a problem and thanks to him and the chef, I got exactly what I was hoping for. Salmon francese and it was DELICIOUS! The entire meal was memorable and we felt like we really had a date night for the first time in months. During service when the entree was served we were pleasantly surprised to see David Gonzalez whom we knew for almost two decades at another establishment bringing us our meal. We got so excited I forgot to photograph the entree. David always makes you feel like family and it is yet another reason for us to frequent River Palm that much more. Bottom line, great food, terrific service, and fabulously well social distanced. Thank you so much for a wonderful day we will be back soon.More

Normally I would write a nice review about this restaurant. However, I ordered a lobster tail for 25.00. I noted that when i received the check i noticed that the lobster tail magically transformed in a 58.00.when asked about the expense the waiter cheerfully explained...that he gave me the 10 ounce tail...ALL ON HIS OWN WITHOUT ASKING. No offer of compromise This is unfair. The last time they will be seeing mine business and that of my colleagues.More

Excellent service, delicious food! The only complaint is that if you go on a Saturday night be prepared to wait. We had a 7:15 reservation but did not get seated until 8pm. It seems the problem is diners who have finished their meals stay too...long. I get it this place is expensive and well worth it but maybe on Saturday nights the first seating should have a 2 hour limit, I have seen this in other places. Anyway its still worth the trip, as I said the best steak anywhere, and I have been to the best steak houses around the USA!More

Very disappointed - the staff displays strong racial discrimination. I was there with my husband, celebrating my birthday and our waiter at first seemed very nice. However, midway through the meal, he came up to the table right next to us and made a joke...about nail salons, massages and started making a high-pitched imitation of Asian people..it made us extremely uncomfortable and ruined the whole dinner. I will certainly not go back there and do not recommend it to anyone who, like me, does NOT support racist behavior.More

I think this is hands down one of the best restaurants in Northern NJ. The food is always consistently excellent. Furthermore, they have a really sexy ambiance, the servers are hospitable, and knowledgeable about the menu and they have a solid cocktail/wine menu. The River...Palm is one of those restaurants that has a million items on the menu and they're actually all excellent. That's rare. Their specials menu is about a page long, and includes many staples, as well as a few seasonal items. I have never been dissatisfied by anything I have ever ordered here. Furthermore, I have recommended this restaurant to friends and family, and they all came back with raving reviews. I must warn you, it's almost ALWAYS packed. Whether you go in the middle of the day or at night, it's never dead in here. It's definitely a locals spot, and you can tell people have been religiously going here for years. Moving on, I'm often weary about a steakhouse offering sushi options, but the sushi chef is fantastic. I always order at least one roll here. I don't eat steak, but my brother always raves about the meat here. Other favorites of mine include the lobster dumplings, the king crab (if they have it), the scallops, oysters Rockefeller. Their fish/crustaceans always tastes fresh too. Another thing I thoroughly enjoy about this restaurant is that you never leave hungry. They offer a table salad to everyone with blue cheese and a nice vinaigrette dressing before the main entrees, and it's delicious. Portions are also very reasonable. Not Cheesecake Factory size, but a very solid portion. I highly recommended the Edgewater location over the Fairlawn location. You almost feel like you're in a Robert De Nero 'mobster' movie from the 1960s (I feel like I'm in Chicago in the midst of the mafia era). There's signed pictures of celebrities all over the walls, dark walls, dim lighting, no outside lighting allowed, and waiters that have worked there for 30+ years. It's a real local joint!More

Made 5:30 reservations for thanksgiving. Arrived at 5:20. They had not yet seated the 4:00 reservations. Their policy is DISGRACEFUL especially considering a family holiday. NEVER GO THERE ON A HOLIDAY. They ruined our thanksgiving

Lunch Friday afternoon Andy came to the table and was so gracious as usuall and we always order the Andy Roll Joseph parked my car up front as usal Steve the Manager was gracious as was Steve the bus boy couldn't do enough The problem...Had the worse waitress ever. she never came to the table, had an attitude when ordering and only spoke to the Russian clientele that was there that afternoon To bad as I left her such a small tip, only because I had a Real Estate closing and felt good. Otherwise I would have left her "0"More
