Went with a group of friends and had a great time with great food! The lower level is more popular but was full so we sat upstairs. Our waitress was wonderful and made some great recommendations. Don’t miss the hot pretzel stuffed with crabmeat appetizer....Will definitely be going back. Enjoy!More

I stopped in today while doing househunting in town to see what the #1 ranked restaurant in Dunellen had to offer. I love the vibe of an old building/pub and chose to eat at the bar in the basement. It was not busy at all...on Sunday afternoon with maximum 5 people at the bar and 3-4 tables full, however food service was extraordinarily slow. The bartender explained that it was due to a large bridal shower going on in the restaurant, however there weren't any apologies or accommodations other than that. I waited 40 minutes for a sandwich. The food was okay, the beer selection was good, the ambiance was what I would expect. I want to love this place and hope I just caught it on a bad day. Will give it another shot!More

Used to frequent here "back in the day!" Received a gift card, so figured we would try it.. We opted to eat in the basement AK Rathskeller. The server was very pleasant and attentive. Now on to the food. One word for it, Excellent! My...wife had the lasagna. was enough to feed two people! I had the Chicken Parm. WOW two large breasts served with linguini. As it say in the menu, "Finish it if you can." They mean it!!! Very large portion. Would certainly recommend this placeMore

I have been coming to the Dunellen hotel for years. When my one son was playing football, it was perfect after game place to be. The town of Dunellen is one square mile, so pretty much the town would show up. More importantly, was the...service and the food. No matter how crowded it was, the food came quickly and the food was excellent. Now that my kids have graduated, I take my two sons to the Rathskeller for St. Patricks day. It is kind of our tradition. They have this Irish stew, that is out of this world.More

I’ve now eaten in both the upper and lower levels , and I prefer the atmosphere of the basement. The beer and cider selection is one of the best in the area. Biggest minus is the limited parking.

Went there with big family group for lunch in basement. $19 for salmon which isn't fresh. Most people enjoyed the food. Overall ok experience. Only one bartender/waiter who was very nice.

Went on a Monday night with the family to get Burgers with their BOGO deal. Good portion sizes, free popcorn and always friendly service.

Had a work lunch here and from the outside, you are wondering this is going to either be a cool little place or terrible. This definitely was a cool place. Person working was great. The food was solid. Really more of a 3.5 place. If...in the area, try it out.More

Old, run down building, very dated inside, but lovely staff and delicious food! What a surprise. Compliments to the kitchen for the great menu and tasty food. It is like going home. Very cozy.
